St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports Tezza's snipetts September 2021
HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP
The STACY Under 17's Girls sit top of division two of HGFPL with 9 points after three wins out of three matches played. They first played Bedwell Rangers Red away and won 3-0 with goals from Esme HUME, Amy PAGE and Andrea LEONIDAS and this was followed up by a 7-1 home victory against Harpenden Colts Bobcats Women. Scoring the goals were Amy PAGE with a hat-trick whilst Ruby TICKNER netted a brace and both Jaime CURTAIN and Andrea LEONIDAS popped up with one apiece. In the STACY Under 17's Girls third match saw them win 5-1 against Garston Ladies Leopards after they had led 2-0 at the break. The goalscorers were Jaime CURTAIN who scored three excellent goals whilst both Amy PAGE and Andrea LEONIDAS both netted one each,
The STACY Under 16's Girls South have only played one match so far and that was in the County Cup which saw them lose eventually 5-0 away to BSC FC Youth Girls after the score had been 2-0 at half time. The player of the match for the South was Isabel Corrigan.
Also in the County Cup were the STACY Under 16's Girls North and they were playing away to Garston Ladies Lions and despite the score being 1-1 at half time the North Girls gradually lost 3-2 with Sarah-Jane SPEARS and Rosie VASS scoring the goals for the lady Saints. The player of the match was awarded to Viktoria Bogdanova. They next had a league match in a division three fixture which saw them lose 4-1 eventually to Hitchin Belles Blues Girls with Viktoria BOGDANOVA scoring the North's only goal of the match. The player of the match went to Abbie Bierman.
In division two of the HGFPL saw the STACY Under 15's Girls South play Welwyn Pegasus away and at half time saw them trailing 1-0 but by full-time saw them gradually lose by four goals to two. Scoring for the South saw player of the match Freya ELLIOT score a striking effort from ten yards whilst Lillia FETTA-RAWLINGS scored the second goal. The team was well led by captain Sofia Ghalian Bourgila.
The STACY Under 14's Girls North were away to Meninas FC Campinas in a division match and at half time saw them leading 1-0 but in the second saw them step up a gear with captain Emma Bracey leading the way which saw them eventually win 6-1 with Esme DICKSON scoring two of the goals. The other goals were scored by Rebbeca SMITH, Jessica NELSON, Elizabeth AYLWARD-HILL and Freya WALKER.
They next played Hitchin Belles Blues at home and at the break saw the 14's Girls North trailing by two goals to nil but in the second period saw them fight back to earn a point with a 2-2 draw with goals from Emily EDGECOMBE and Jessica NELSON.
Their third league match in division one saw them record a 2-1 away victory over Wormley Rovers Black Girls with both goals being scored by Rebbeca SMITH one in each half.
In division two of the HGFPL saw the STACY Under 14's Girl Wildcats kick off their season with a great 6-1 home win over BSC FC Youth Girls with Reese ANSCOMB scoring a superb hat-trick in the first fifteen minutes of the match. The other goalscorers were Elsa McGAUGHEY, Grace ADAMS-AVIS plus one from player of the match Eleanor RATCLIFFE. In their second league match saw them lose 2-1 away to Garston Ladies JS Jaguars with Reese ANSCOMB scoring the Wildcats goal from the penalty spot whilst Sophie Bromwich won the player of the match award and captain Daisy Harris coming a close second. Playing away to Berkhamsted Raiders Red Girls saw the Wildcats lose heavily by seven goals to nil whilst both Amy Wright and Lily Latham both picked up the joint player of the match title.
The STACY Under 14's Girls South started their league campaign in division four with a 11-2 away win at Hatfield Town Corinthians Girls with Abi ROSE scoring a double hat-trick yes six goals, well done Abi. The other goalscorers were Franncesa Cancelliere-NASH with a fine hat-trick whilst both Evie MARDEL-WOODS and Thyra SONDERGAARD both scored one each to complete the rout. The South next played Hitchin Belles Whites Girls at home and lost 2-1 with Abi ROSE scoring the only goal for the South whilst Eva Greening was named player of the match. They next played another home match, and this was against Omonia Youth Girls and the visitors scored a goal in each half to win the match 2-0 with the Under 14's Girls South having a joint player of the match and they were Clodagh Clements-Killen and Evie Mardel Woods.
The STACY Under 13's Girls Central played three matches in the division 1 of the HGFPL and the first game saw them record a 2-1 home win over Berkhamsted Raiders Titans Girls and scoring the goals were Ira THAKUR and Lauren VINEY both with one each. The player of the match was awarded to the hard-working Rosie Angel.
They lost their next two matches, 7-0 away to Royston Town Crows Girls in the first game with Rosie Angel and Emily Ball both picking up the player of the match title. Their next game saw them go down 3-2 at home to Harvesters Girls and they are still wondering how they lost after dominating the match but that is how it goes. Scoring the goals for the Central team were Alica GIBSON and Lauren VINEY.
In the division 2 of the HGFPL saw the STACY Under 13's Girls North win 2-1 over Evergreen Phoenix Girls at home with player of the match Jacey DYETT scoring the first goal in the 32nd minute whilst Shea FAGAN scored her goal in the second period in the 55th minute.
After being 1-0 up after eight minutes playing away to Broxbourne Utd Pinks Girls with Shea FAGAN scoring the North's goal but by half time, they found themselves trailing by four goals to two and that is how the scoreline remained at the final whistle. Scoring the North's second goal was also Shea FAGAN with yet another great finish whilst the player of the match was awarded to Amy May.
The STACY Under 13's Girls Wildcats lost their first match in division 3 away to Hemel Aces Leopards Girls by a close score of 3-2 with the score being 2-1 at the break to Hemel. Scoring the goals for the Wildcats were Maya TILL and Nola COLLINGRIDGE with captain Zoe Eyles and Scarlett Marshall picking up the joint player of the match.
The Wildcats next played Hitchin Belles Whites Girls at home and lost 7-1 with Chloe NUTTALL scoring the consolation goal for the Wildcats in the second half.
The STACY Under 12's Girls Central played three matches in division 1 of the HGFPL and they scored a total of 25 goals during these games and conceded only 9. We start off with a 10-3 home win over Chorleywood Common Jaguars Girls with Jasmine MERCER leading the way with four well finished goals. The other scorers in this match for Central were Isabel ROBERTS 2, Alexa JOHNSON 2, Aasha BARKER and one from player of the match Holly BROOKS.
They next played Hitchin Belles Blues Girls at home and won 12-1 with player of the match Isabel ROBERTS scoring an impressive four goals. Jasmine MERCER scored three goals whilst Aasha BARKER netted a fine brace and then there were singles from Holly BROOKS, Sacha DAVIES and Alexa JOHNSON.
Away to Ruislip Rangers Girls Clarets saw the 12's Girls Central lose 5-3 after a very close match with Holly BROOKS, Isabel ROBERTS and Olivia WOOD all getting on the scoresheet with captain Sophea Bridge having a solid game.
The STACY Under 12's Wildcats had three games in division two and during the first one saw them lose 3-1 at home to Stevenage Starlets FC Gold Girls with Siena SAHOTA scoring the Wildcats goal which was well setup by a good pass from Ava Holland.
They next played Harpenden Colts Panthers Girls at home and at the break saw them leading 1-0 with a goal from Emily DORMER after only five minutes play. In the second period the Wildcats scored two more goals in the 55th and 57th minute and they were scored by Georgia TONGUE and Emily DORMER in that order, and it was Emily Dormer's second goal of the match.
In their third match saw them lose 3-1 away to Berkhamsted Raiders Titans Girls with the score being 1-1 at the break and scoring the Wildcats goal was Emily DORMER.
