St Albans City Youth - Boys
In the county cup saw the 18 East beat Comets FC from Hitchin 5-2 with Dan Miles scoring two of the goals whilst Lucas Martindale, Joe Stockwell and Ewan Brand all scored one apiece. The man of the match went Harvey Trounson.
Harry Peter scored a goal in the first half for the 16 East away to Omonia White and then Ben Adshead added another goal in the second period to complete a 2-0 win with right back Asher Stevens being named as man of the match.
Kensell Ertogrul scored the consolation goal for the 16 Orient in their home match with Everett Rovers Yellow with the final score being 7-1 to the visitors.
After the 15 EJA had beaten Cheshunt last week in the cup 7-1 they might have thought this week's league might be easy, but it was not to be as in the end it was a very close match and they only just hanged onto all three points with a 2-1 victory.
Jack McShane went close with an early effort that curled just wide of the far post whilst at the other end keeper Billy Thomson had to be on his toes to push around his near post a close-range shot.
McShane then burst clear after a long ball forward from Thomson, but he rushed his shot and flew just over the crossbar. At the other end Billy Thomson had to make another fine save this time with his legs from an effort from Teddy Bunn.
Just before the break the Saints took the lead when BENNY STACEY side-footed the ball home from twelve yards following a throw-in on the left to make it 1-0.
Two minutes into the second half it became 2-0 when from just outside the box saw JACK KELLY strike home a hard-low free kick that the keeper could not hold onto. Josh Forster nearly added to the score, but his sizzling drive flew just over the bar and then Billy Thomson made yet another good save low down.
Cheshunt stepped up a gear and firstly Henry Hobbs hit the post and then Jude James headed another effort of the line. Finally, Cheshunt pulled a goal back when Teddy BUNN slotted home after being sent clear.
Next Fabio Carlino hits the bar whilst Teddy Bunn had a effort strike the upright but thank your lucky stars none of them went in and the young Saints held on to take all three points but only just. The man of the match must go to the woodwork for keeping out all those well struck shots on goal.
The 15 Central were away in the challenge cup to Hemel Town Blues and the Central keeper Joe Moss made three great saves early on to keep the scoreline at 0-0. The Saints eventually took the lead themselves midway through the first half when Matt Roome finished off a fine move from Dan Hussain. Just before the break Calum Cornish added a second to make it 2-0 whilst in the second period with the strong wind and the slope to their advantage saw Angelo Calatrava, Matty Bleakey, and subs Josh Penning and Jack Percy add further goals to complete a 6-0 win. John McVeigh helped to setup a couple of the goals whilst the man of the match went to Dan Hussain.
Goals from Callum Cosgrove, Adam Robinson who was also man of the match and Karl Rodgers and James Fontaine gave the 15 South a 4-1 win at Hampstead.
Away to Gadeside Rangers Tigers were the 15 North and after a close first half the North eventually lost 5-0 as the Tigers got their claws out really into the second half and Max Robertson was voted man of the match after his tough display in the midfield.
The 15 West fought out a 1-1 draw at home to Sun Sports Blue with Samuel Pollard scoring a fine equalising goal whilst Myles Donkin picked up the man of the match.
The 14 South make it an incredible 8 consecutive wins in all competitions with a 5-1 away win over Hemel Town. Scoring a goal in the first half was Tyler Channer who then added two more in the second period to complete his hat-trick. James Justice also scored a goal whilst Ryan Solly ran clear to slot home goal number five. The man of the match went to Jake Leech who defended well as was also a constant threat when taking on opponents with his pace in supporting the attack.
Staying top of the WFL Green Division were the 14 East Blue with a 2-0 away win at Harvesters East with goals from Joe Stone and Brandon Trainis.
Losing 5-3 away to Enfield Rangers in the league were the 14 North and scoring all three of their goals was Tyler Cadiou-McCarthy whilst Josh Doyle picked up the man of the match award.
Away to Sarrett Rebels were the 14 Boreal and they fought out a 2-2 draw with their opponents with Jack Carmichael scoring the Boreal first goal whilst Jack O'Rahilly hitting home the equaliser. The man of the match went to central midfielder Oscar Evans who his very quick on his feet and renowned for his sharp shooting.
Away to Berkhamsted Raiders Yellows were the 13 West and they won 6-2 with Dylan Bramell scoring a hat-trick whilst the man of the match Chester Reynolds also scored three goals as well.
At home to Langlebury saw the 13 South win 4-1 with two goals from man of the match Alfie Perkins plus one from Mackenzie Gibson and one from Louis Warren.
The 13 North were away to Harvesters North and they took a 1-0 lead at half time with a great finish from Rui Clements-Kelly. The hosts equalised early into the second half but then following a superb team move saw Jake Berry bury the ball into the top corner to give the North a 2-1 win.
The 13 East played Belstone at home and won 2-1 after a very tight game with goals from Henry Thomas plus one from Joseph Poulton who also picked up the man of the match tab after a non-stop performance.
In the county cup saw the 12 Victoria take on the 12 West and it was a great game of football with only one goal separating the two teams and that was scored with only eight minutes to go when Zak Davies fired home from ten yards for the Vics to win 1-0. The man of the match for the 12 West was Oliver Philpot who played his best game for them whilst for the Vics it went to Martin Flore who gave a excellent defensive performance.
At home to Brady Maccabi White saw the 12 South win 3-1 with goals from Cameron Choudhury, Freddie Reeves and Mason Leigertwood.
The 12 Boreal lost 2-1 finally after a very close match at home to Croxley Green Emerald with Matthew Hayhurst scoring the equaliser for Boreal whilst Toma (the Rock) Tashev was named man of the match after a good game at centre back.
Losing 8-0 away to Echoes Orange in a division 5 match were the 12 Orient and winning the man of the match for Orient was Mr Versatile Jack McDonald.
The 11 Romans played Bedwell Rangers Cougars away and defender Alex Rothwell was named man of the match in a close game.
At home to Bury Rangers Whites were the 11 Saxons and in a high scoring game saw Finlay Murphy score two goals including one from the penalty spot which he had won by being fouled inside the box. Other scorers were Ailbe Tidd and Jake Dear.
Away to Hoddesdon Town Blues saw Dewayne Mitchell score 5 goals for the 11 Spartans whilst there were further goals from Isaam Jamil, Dominic Cofone, Max Attewell and Freddie Durbridge.
Three players scored two goals each for the 11 Orient in their away match with Echoes and they were Thomas Boca-Mapp, Bertie Postema and Antonio Desiderio. Both Alex Hails and Ollie Jay both popped up with one apiece whilst Bertie Postema was named as man of the match for his outstanding display in midfield.
At home to Sarrett Rebels Yellow in the green division of the WHYL were the 11 Central and scoring goals for them were George Parker 2 and Tyler Gullin-Hall whilst Oliver Chisholm picked up the man of the match award.
Playing Nascot Wood at home in a yellow league fixture of the WHYL saw the 11 South's Josh Smith hit a hat-trick whilst Max Butterworth got one. The man of the match went to James Beasley for outstanding defensive display.
The 11 Dragons at home to Broxbourne Blues saw Joshua Francoisi score brilliant solo effort on a heavy pitch and Michael (goal a game) Napier netted a second goal with Steven Jacobs setting it up with a superb sublime through ball. The player of the match went to keeper Josh McIoughlin who made some fine saves throughout the match.
Two players got amongst the goals in the 10 West away game with Enfield Youth and they were Daniel Day and Toby Short who both hit four goals each whilst Freddie Stewart scored one.
Away to Hertford Town Blues in a purple league match were the 10 Orient and the young saints were in good form. Scoring three goals was Otto Meech whilst both Theo Hancock and Alfie Long both scored a brace apiece. Other scorers were Louie Kemp, Adam Lorman and Lucas Curley.
Also playing a purple division game in the MHRML were the 10 East and they were away to Bedwell Hawks and scoring four goals for them was Leon Rainey whilst the man of the match was Samuel Philpot who scored three goals.
The famous last man standing or in other words Jacob Standing scored a goal for the 10 North in their home match with Hertford Town Harts whilst picking up the man of the match title was Ethan Evans who seems to cover every blade of grass during the game.
Playing Norseman United were the 9 Central and scoring two goals each were Josh Gibson and Sam Peacock.
Eddie Johnson scored a hat-trick and Hugo Smith 2 for the 9 North in their away match in the MHRML Red division against Ware Lions Black with both Joshua Cassidy and Olic Fan notching one apiece. The boys showed some superb skills, tackles and passing, well done lads.
The 8 East or the 7UP's as they liked to be known played Hinton & Finchley Revolutions and scoring two goals for the 7UP's was man of the match Junior Mitchell
The 8 South gave a excellent performance in their match with Welwyn Garden City Typhoon with goals from Julian Jordan and Fin Seabrook.
Sam McCree hit three goals for the 8 North in their match with Welwyn Pegasus and also getting on the scoresheet was Noah Fox with Héctor Redel being named as man of the match for a great attacking display.
Playing a tough league match at home were the 18 Girls and their opponents were the league leaders Garston Ladies and at the final whistle saw the 18 Girls eventually lose 5-1. Scoring the goal for the lady saints was Emily Schofield whilst the player of the match went to Kate Chamberlain who gave a hard-working display at centre back.
Away to wait for it AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College saw the 17 Girls who thought they were playing two teams at once with that long name and after a slow start by their hosts saw them eventually run away with the match and the 17 Girls could do nothing to stop as they lost 11-0. The player of the match went to the hard-working Phoebe Skinner.
The 15 Girls and their opponents in the county cup Bedwell Rangers were both at not full strength but the 15 Girls in the end were just too strong for them as they ran out winners by seven goals to one. Scoring four of the goals was Mathilda Finburgh with Jessica Simpson adding a brace whilst Katie Weaver hit the final goal. The player of the match went to Grace Baker-Roberts.
Away to Harvesters were the 14 Girls and Mia Eyles scored their only goal of the match as they finally lost 4-1. The player of the match went to Sophie Harrison.
Goals from Katie Leigh and Briony Stachini were not enough for the 13 Girls North as they lost 5-2 away to Ruislip Rangers with the player of the match going to Ruby Tickner.
Goalkeeper Lily Morrissey was the girl of the match for the 13 Girls South as they lost 2-1 away Bengeo Tiger with Rosie Littlechild scoring the South's goal.
The 11 Girls North played away to Berkhamsted Raiders and scoring a few goals for the North Girls were Scarlett Mills 2, Cora Baylis 2 and one from Emilie Hicks. The player of the match went to Maisie Francis who played well in the back line and when she moved up into the midfield.
Also playing an away match were the 11 Girls South who visited Berkhamsted Raiders and scoring a goal apiece for the South were Purdy Brooks and Amelia Onyems with Anna Cox being named player of the match.
Away to Evergreen Harts were the 10 Girls and hitting seven goals for them was player of the match Scarlett Robb with both Teagan Scarlett and Rebecca Smith scoring two goals each. Other scorers were Emily Edgecombe and Olive Jones.
Matilda Stuart and Lucy Hosty both scored one goal each for the 9 Girls Central in their home match in the purple division against Ware with Alicia Gibson winning the player of the match title.
Away to Berkhamsted Raiders were the 8 Girls Development and there were some good assists from Siena Sahota and an outstanding stint in goal from Sophia Bridge. Scoring the goals was Jasmine Mercer with 4, Demi Hall 2 and Alexa Johnson with one whilst being named as player of the match was Charlotte Luckhurst for some smart defending.
