St Albans City Youth - Boys
In the Challenge Cup at home saw a high scoring match which eventually saw the 18 South lose 5-4 to Alexandra Park who scored a late winner. The goalscorers for the South were Scott Gentle, Finbar King, Ernesto Moad and Ross Weaver with Callum Hunter picking up the man of the match title.
The 18 North lost 3-2 at home to Chorleywood Lions and scoring for the North were Harry Watts and Archie Hall with Mr Powerhouse himself Matt Breeze being named man of the match.
The 16 EJA drew 2-2 at home to Hoddesdon after a poor first half in which the Saints found themselves 2-0 down. However, they rallied in the second half and pulled a goal back by Jamie Armstrong who was assisted by a Ryan Orde free kick. Brad Simm was unlucky not to equalise when he saw his shot destined for the top corner tipped onto the bar by the Hoddys keeper. With 2 minutes to go the Saints won a free kick which Ryan Orde took and his superb strike from 20 yards was parried by the keeper who then parried Max Hodgson follow up effort back into the danger area where Billy Owen scored with a bicycle kick. A deserved draw in the end and the man of the match went jointly to Jarvis Wilkins and Hendrik Bockenhauer playing in a re-jigged defence following a early first half injury to Dan Banerjee.
In the League Cup saw the 16 East lose 8-1 to Kings Langley after the score had been 3-1 at half time. Scoring the East's consolation goal was Ben Adshead whilst the man of the match was picked up by Ed Johnson-Rix.
At home in the Challenge Cup were the 16 Orient and they were playing Bushey & Oxhey and after extra time the score was 4-4 so the match went to penalties which saw the Orient lose 4-1. All the young Saints goals were scored by the man of the match Joshua Daniel.
The u15s EJA had a cracking 2-1 win away to a strong Potters Bar side with both sides missing chances early on it was Potters Bar that took the lead on 20 mins, but the Saints then got a well-deserved equaliser with a good finish from Jack McShane. The second half started with the Saints on top and it wasn't long before the boys took the lead with Joe Vance getting onto the end of a through ball and slotting lovely across the on-rushing goalie the game then went end to end for the remainder of the match with Potters Bar hitting the post and the Saints pair of Jude James and Jack McShane both smashing effort against the crossbar
Both Billy Thomson in the Saints goal and Kai Edwards in the Potters Bar goal both had to be at their best making brilliant saves throughout the match.
On Wednesday night the u15s beat Ilford Town away in the midweek floodlit cup winning 4-0 with Josh Forster scoring two goals and Jack McShane and Bradley Young one each.
The 15 East were mildly disappointing in the second half as by the break they were leading 4-0 and playing like 1974 Ajax but in the second half they switched to playing like 1974 ABBA and finally ended up drawing the match 4-4. Nasir Zaman scored two goals whilst Mustaqim Boksh and Connor Robinson both goth one apiece. The man of the match went to William Bennett who was had a steady presence like Bertie Vogts throughout.
At home to FC Hemel Blue were the 15 North and after a entertaining match in which a few goals were scored by each team eventually saw the visitors win 4-2. Scoring for the North were Daniel Ludwig and Ollie Ring with Ethan Atkinson being named as man of the match.
Away to Maccabi Lions who were in full roar saw the 15 South go down 5-1 with George Moonery scoring the only goal for the South whilst the man of the match went Karl Rodgers.
At home to Croxley Green Black were the 14 North and with six minutes to go the scoreline was 3-3 and then the North took a 4-3 lead but a minute later Croxley hit back to end the match all square at 4-4. Scoring all four of the North's goals was Tyler Cadiou-McCarthy and he also hit the woodwork four times as well. the visitors also hit the woodwork a few times as well and for the North goalkeeper Finley Tetlow was named maned man of the match for making a few fine saves during the game which could have ended 10-10.
Away in the 2nd round of the League Cup saw the 14 East Blue ease through 3-2 after extra time against Brady Maccabi Whites with Brandon Trainis scoring two goals and Dan Gant one.
The 14 South were trailing 3-1 to Bovingdon Storm in a division 2 league fixture in the WHYL league but Tyler Channer who had scored the South's first goal hit another to start the fightback. Alex Woodward scored with a header following a corner kick to make it 3-3 and then Ryan Solly hit home the winner following a goalmouth scramble to make the final score 4-3 to the 14 South. The man of the match went to Hadee Sadik who orchestrated some of the best moves from midfield and also looked dangerous when joining the attack.
The 14 Boreal won 2-1 against Harpenden Colts Hawks with goals from Tom Durrant and Tom Randall whilst Danny Fowler who battles hard all around the pitch was named as man of the match.
(I like the colours) The 14 East Yellow were away to Berkhamsted Raiders Orange and the Saints lost 3-2 to a very late goal when a draw seemed on the cards. Man of the man Krishten Cavaroee scored the first goal whilst Adam Ben-Dahman scored the other.
At home to London Colney Colts saw the 13 North go in at the break 5-0 up and by the final whistle the North had gone onto win 11-0. There were eight different goalscorers and they were Jake Berry 3, Jamie Breen 2, Joseph Beardon, Ricky Di Trolio, Tom Pinkham, Ben Freestone, Rui Clements-Kelly and Elliott Johnston.
After a very tight game away to Nascot Wood saw the 13 South just edge it by four goals to three with Jamie McLeod, Joseph McLeod, Matthew Martin and then Tio Jayasinghe scoring the goals to give the South victory. The man of the match went to the hard-working midfielder Charlie Johnson.
The 12 South beat Cassiobury Rangers 5-3 following a very close game with two goals from George Dalton and two goals from Jack Knibbs plus one from Freddie Reeves.
The 12 Orient were playing 12 West in division 3 of the WHYL and after a exciting game saw the Orient snatch all three points with a 3-1 victory. Scoring for the Orient was Calum Crowther with two and Sami Self with one whilst central defender Ollie Rattle was their man of the match. Scoring the West's goal was Jensen Dean.
Picking up a point away to Hemel Tow Red in a 1-1 draw were the 12 Central and scoring that all important goal was man of the match Matthew Penfold.
Dean Blandon hit four goals for the 11 Orient in their away match with Croxley Green Black with Bertie Postema and Antonio Desidero both scored two each. Also scoring a goal was Lucas Berry whilst Oscar Noble won the man of the match award for a solid performance across the park.
The 11 South were away to Hemel Ace Tigers and scoring a fine goal was Ian Carasco whilst winning the man of the match trophy was goalkeeper Ben Soll.
Away to Paringdon Tigers saw Dylan Norman, Mikey Napier(penalty) and man of the match Josh Francois all score a goal apiece for the 11 Dragons in this game of excellent football from both teams. Both Vinnie Ogden and Mattie Verdier both took turns in goal and both had good games in between the sticks. One thing of note this was SCOTT COLE's 50th appearance for the club.
Finlay Murphy and Jasper Button both scored one goal each foe the 11 Saxons in their home match with Welwyn Garden City Typhoons.
In the Orange division of the MHRM league saw the 11 East play Sumner Pool with Liam Powell being named man of the match. During the game there were goals from Ryan Kennedy, Johnny Bennett and Asa Stewart-Harris.
The 11 Arrows played Wodson Park away with both James Dodd and man of the match Cathal Gleeson scoring a goal each for the Arrows. The rest of the squad was Max Wheelan, Callum Howells, Leon Negus-Roman, Luke Collins, Thomas Maher, Jake Lee and Alfie Wollington.
The 11 Spartans played Ware Youth Blues at home and Dewayne Mitchell scored 4 goals for the Spartans whilst Isaam Jamal hit a brace whilst Zevik Cowell popped up with one.
Away to Welwyn Garden City in the Yellow division of the MHRM league were the 10 Central and they certainly earned an Oscar with their True Grit and stamina from the whole team for the whole of the match. Scoring goals for them were Seth Connolly, Jayden Nevers-Wright and Max El Helou.
The 10 East were also away to a Welwyn Garden City team and it was the Typhoons they played in the Purple division and scoring for the East was Samuel Philpot and Arthur Rennie-Sivell whilst Logan Anderson picked up the man of the match trophy.
The 10 Orient played the 10 North away and scoring a couple of goals for the Orient was Adam Lorman.
Well what a name for a team PSFA Vasco but this who the 9 Central played away to and scoring three goals was Josh Gibson and scoring a brace apiece were James Cox and Eddie Hearn.
Also playing away were the 9 North and they were at Hoddesdon Town Black and after a excellent team display saw Ronnie Wilton, Eddie Johnson and Joshua Cassidy all score one goal each.
The 9 East were at home to Parsloe Athletic Clarets and the star * player * was Gabriel Odunlami whilst the rest of the squad was Tom Luckhurst, Toby Veitch, Harry Murphy, Will John, Brian Baum, David Spears, and Nikhil Jagota.
The 8 East or the 7UP's as their new nickname were playing Hadley Wood in the Capt. Croc division in the WFL and scoring goals for the 7UP's were two from man of the match Bailey Fennel and two from Junior Mitchell who looked very calm when he took a turn in goal by laying stretched out on the goal-line and watching the jumbo jets flying over.
Away to Hertford Town Stags were the 8 West and during the match saw Paolo Iacobucci scoring a hat-trick whilst both James Cox and Bertie Bachmann scored a goal each.
The 8 North played away to Welwyn Garden City Hurricanes and Sam McCree was in good form by scoring four goals whilst William Anfield hit a brace and Noah Fox one. The man of the match went to Henry Schmidt who took part in a fine team performance.
The 8 South took on Wheathampstead Wanderers away and leading the scorers was Finley Seabrook 3, Julian Jordan 2, Fin Henry 2, Sofiane Bendaoud 2, Harry Mayhew and Lucas Thomas.
The 18 Girls were at home to the 17 Girls and the visitors only had nine players, so the 18 Girls downsized to nine players to make the game more even. With the match being played in good spirit eventually saw the 18 Girls that just a bit too strong for the 17 Girls and run-out 9-3 winners. Scoring for the hosts were Emily Schofield 4, Danielle Tyler 3, Isabelle Poole plus one from player of the Ellen Fox.
Scoring for the 17 Girls was Jess Leigh with a brace whilst Charlotte Banks scored the other and the player of the match went to Emma Wilkinson.
The 15 Girls were away to Onslow St Audreys Academy Purple and they came away with a 4-1 win with the player of the match Maz Horne-Batet scoring two of the goals whilst Mia Pinkham and Mathilda Finburgh both scored one apiece.
Away to Welwyn Pegasus saw the 14 Girls earn a point after a battling 1-1 draw with a goal from player of the match Zoe Cowan.
Playing Pro Direct Academy BXB White away were the 13 Girls North and after a tight game the hosts finally won 4-2. Tatyana Barton scored both North’s goals whilst the player of the match went to Katie Leigh.
The 12 Girls South played Potters Bar Crusaders Blues away and by full time saw them lose by the odd goal with the scoreline being 3-2. Scoring for the South were Maisie Humphreys and Isabel Corrigan whilst Ava Rose was named player of the match.
Also losing by the odd goal were the 12 Girls North as they went down 2-1 at home to Potters Bar Crusaders Raiders with Danford Thisbe scoring the North's only goal.
In the Purple Division saw the 11 Girls North play Stevenage Borough and scoring goals in this match were Hannah Pope 3, Scarlett Mills 3, Marrina McCullen 2 and one own goal. There was a joint player of the match and it went to Scarlett Mills and Marrina McCullen.
Away to Tottenham Hotspur saw the 11 Girls South play well and their player of the match went to Stella Ekblad-Pisscitelli.
The 10 Girls North were away to Watford Harts and Scarlett Robb hit four goals whilst both Rebecca Smith and Gabby Bradley scored two apiece. The other scorers were Bailey Killner, Olive Jones and one for player of the match Emily Edgecombe.
In what proved to be a roaring match saw the 8 Girls play Garston Lions at home and for the young Saints saw Olivia Wood score three fine goals whilst the player of the match went to Alexa Johnson for showing attitude and versatility for playing well in defence and midfield.
