Tezza is looking back through his old City Youth reports and found some from almost 7 years ago, there are some players names that many of us old managers remember. Well done Terry Edwards.

SEASON 2013-2014.

72 GOALS IN SIX MATCHES  22-10-13.

In the Under 16's and 15's section for the St Albans City Youth FC saw no less than 72 goals in six matches with an average of 12 goals per game.

In the first match we saw the Under 16 West lose 5-3 at home to Tring Tornadoes following a real end to end match. Max BULL scored the West's first goal whilst there were further efforts from Sam REYNOLDS and Alfie HOPKINSON-BADGERY whilst right back Keanu Floyd was named man of the match.

The next game saw the Under 15 South win 11-5 away at Whetstone Wanderers with wing back Kyle HARRIS leading the way with three well taken goals. Also getting on the scoresheet as well were Billy LAWRENCE WITH 2, Finlay AULD 2, Luke WINKS 2, Tom RUANE plus one from the man of the match the skillful James Nasah.

At home to Watford Youth Sports who could only field ten players were the Under 15's North and they stormed to a 12-0 victory following some real neat passing football. Charlie BENNETT headed the goalscoring chart with four cracking goals with Amir STAPLETON not far behind with a glorious hat-trick. The other goals came from Jacob BOCKENHAUER, Morgan TROTMAN, Charlie LUNNISS, Lorenzo FEDERICI whilst the final goal was scored by Billy RINTOUL who robbed a defender of the ball before tucking the ball away from a tight angle.

The Under 15's West struck eight goals past Everett Rovers in the challenge cup at home to win 8-5 following a very exciting game with plenty of end to end football. Man of the match Alex JOURNET struck four of the goals which was then followed up by two goals from Jake ANTONY whilst both Harry HAWKES and Sebastian CAMP scored one each.

In the preliminary round of the Junior Cup saw the Under 15 Orient take on Watford Town Youth away and despite Orient scoring seven goals their opponents hit eleven in what was an exciting match to watch but not for each team's supporters or coaches. Scoring the goals for the Under 15's Orient were three from man of the match Owen LADBROOK plus one apiece from Zac MOORE, Tom NICHOLSON, Isaac KEELY and Oscar RUTHERFORD-HUGHES.

In the final match saw David ANDREWS score the only goal for the Under 15's East as they lost 6-1 to Chorleywood Common Red in a division two league match in the Watford Friendly League.

Well we have done with the Boys for that season and now we pass to the Girls section especially to one of them the Under 14 Girls North who had a run of 9 straight wins on the bounce between the 26th September 2013 and the 30th November.

So here we go as we saw the Under 14's Girls North give an outstanding team performance with every player giving 100% as they beat Watford Ladies Wasps at home by six goals to one. There was a dazzling hat-trick from Emily SCHOFIELD and singles from Louisa ELLIS and Danielle TYLER plus a superb lob from player of the math Nicola GOSLING.

There was no doubt who was the player of the day and that was Emily SCHOFIELD for the Under 14's Girls North as she struck seven goals yes 7 in the North's 12-0 home win over Harpenden Colts Girls. The other goalscorers for the North were Charlie BOYLE 2, Danielle TYLER 2 and one from Shauna SMITH whilst Emily Schofield as you might have already guessed was named player of the match.

Both the Under 14's Girls played one another, and it was the South who took the lead with a sizzling free kick from 20 yards from Abbie SMITH which flew like a rocket into the back of the net. The North equalized just before half time when Emily SCHOFIELD nipped in to score from just six yards. In the second period the play was end to end but the North then won a penalty which saw Danielle TYLER tuck away to give the North a 2-1 lead. Shortly afterwards Abbie Smith went close for the South to nearly level the scores but once again the North scored a third goal again through Danielle TYLER, her second of the game to win the match 3-1. Player of the match for the North went to Danielle Tyler and this win now makes it 3 on the spin.

The Under 14's Girls North played Bedwell Rangers in a league cup tie and they finally came out on top with a 3-2 victory following a game that could have gone either way if it was not for some excellent forward play by the North Girls. The goalscorers for the North were Emily SCHOFIELD, Shauna SMITH and Charlie BOYLE with what proved to be the winning goal.

The Under 14's Girls North make it 5 wins on the bounce when they defeated Watford Ladies Harts at home by eight goals to nil for a excellent win. The goalscorers for the North were Danielle TYLER 3, Charlie BOYLE 2, Shauna SMITH plus Emily SCHOFIELD who was player of the match and also gave an inspiring performance at left midfield and in doing so saw her score two brilliant well taken goals.

The Under 14's Girls North continue their winning ways with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Garston Ladies in the quarter-final of the county cup. Scoring the North's first goal was Danielle TYLER with a superb free kick, and this was followed by goals from Shauna SMITH, Emily SCHOFIELD and Louisa ELLIS whose strike was the goal of the season (so far).

For the seventh match in a row saw the Under 14 Girls North turn in a winning display to make it 7 wins on the trot with a 2-1 home win over Garston Ladies. Emily SCHOFIELD scored the first goal whilst centre back Melissa GODINO got number two with a fine curling effort from 40 yards after she had ventured up field. The player of the match went to Melissa Godino the scorer of that fantastic second goal, but it was mainly for controlling the back four brilliantly throughout the whole of the match.

The Under 14's Girls North just managed to raise 11 players for their away game against Harpenden Colts Girls but it was enough for the North Girls to record an 8th win on the spin with a 4-0 victory which now takes them to three points behind the league leaders. Scoring the North's goals were Emily SCHOFIELD, Charlotte BOYLE, Rose NODEN and Olivia BARNES who was also player of the match following a great game at right back and she also scored her first goal for the Club.

For their 9th victory on the trot saw the Under 14's Girls North beat Hitchin Belles Under 15's at home by two goals to one in the league cup after they had been trailing 1-0 at one stage. Scoring for the North were Isabelle POOLE and one from player of the match Charlotte BOYLE.

Well in their tenth match saw the Under 14' Girls North unbeaten run come to an end when they played Hitchin Belles Under 15's again this time in the league and at half time saw them losing 4-0 but in the second period they hit back and scored three goals themselves to only lose 4-3 at the final whistle. Scoring for the Girls were Emily SCHOFIELD with a brace and she also hit the post late on whilst Danielle TYLER scored their third goal. The player of the match was awarded to Mary Leach who worked hard throughout the whole of the game.
