St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 8th December 2019

The STACY 18 Girls were at home to Bury Rangers Girls and after a very high scoring match saw the STACY Girls run-out winners by six goals to five. Alice Benson scored the first goal after she ran around the keeper and slotted the ball home whilst Olivia Chrisp scored number two with a nice shot into the bottom left corner. Alice Benson then scored a second goal with a effort into the far corner whilst Emily Sibley then hit two, one into the top right corner of the net with her other one being a close range effort to give the 18's Girls a 5-1 lead at half time. In the second period Bury scored three goals to pull it back to 5-4 but then Emily Sibley struck a cracking 30 yard which flew over the head of the Bury keeper to make it now 6-4 to the lady Saints. Bury did pull another goal back but the scoreline remained at 6-5 to the STACY Girls. The player of the match of course went to Emily Sibley for her glorious hat-trick.

Away to Tottenham Hotspur Women were the STACY 17 Girls and they were trailing 4-1 down at the break but they hit back in the second half with two goals and went close on a couple of other times but in the end the score stayed at 4-3 to Spurs(come on the Gunners). Scoring the goals for the 17 Girls were Mia Pinkham, Laura Gifford and Sophie Veal with Katie Holder being named as player of the match.

In division 3 of the HGPFL saw the STACY 15 Girls North run away with a 8-1 home win over the Herts Girls with the player of the match Kiera Ward scoring four fantastic goals. The other scorers were Siobhan O'Donnell 2, Gracie Patrick and Dina Said.

Also picking up a good win were the STACY 12 Girls North as they beat Welwyn Pegasus Girls at home 9-0 with eight different goalscorers and the team was well led by their captain Emma Bracey. Scoring the goals was Michelle Lam 2, Scarlett Robb, Freya Walker, Mimi Gibbons, Gabby Bradley, Rebecca Smith, Honey Seabrook plus one from player of the match Alessia Cipolla.

The STACY 12 Girls Wildcats kept their claws out as they beat Hoddesdon Town Girls at home by three goals to one and scoring these goals was player of the match Imogen Siery with a fine brace and Reese Anscomb with one.

Away to Denham United Ladies Wildcats were the STACY 11 Girls Central and scoring two goals apiece for the Saints were Holly Green and Charlotte Black whilst Alicia Gibson was named as player of the match.

Playing at Ware against a team called Meninas Fortaleza were the STACY 11 Girls North and after being setup by Verity Lobina and Rachel Kincaid following a great move saw player of the match Amy Hargreaves score with a cracking shot from the edge of the box.

Away to Bedwell Rangers Griffin Girls saw the STACY 11 Girls Wildcats score goals through Chloe Nuttall with a hat-trick, Emily Gray 2, Gabriella Joyce plus one from player of the Konni Hobbs who also did a turn in goal and also whilst on the pitch was a rock in defence with a brief spell in midfield(you could say an all-rounder, so she well deserved her award.

The STACY 10 Girls Central played away to Ruislip Rangers Clarets and after a hard-fought game against a strong team saw the Central Girls score a fine goal which was tucked away by Jasmine Mercer with a very neat finish. The player of the match went Olivia Wood following some excellent goalkeeping.

The STACY 10 Girls Wildcats took part in a high scoring game away to Hitchin Belles and leading the Saints in scoring a few goals was Lizzie Baylis with four. Also scoring a few goals were Evie Dullaghan-Stone with a hat-trick with both Siena Sohata and Sophie Cowan scoring one each with latter's coming from the penalty spot and she also picked up the player of the match title as well. During the game Asha Pisharody was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured wrist, hope you are okay Asha, get well soon.

Away to Meninas Salvador Girls were the STACY 9 Girls Romans and having a good game was the player of the match Helena Armoogum.

Playing Boreham Wood 2000 away were the STACY 9 Girls Central saw Nell McKinstry score two goals which takes her tally to 45 for the season plus 5 more goals scored in friendlies. In defence saw Sophia Neil Liana Sprunt, Nell McKinstry and Amber Fells all have good games whilst taking a stint in goal were Evie Hargreaves, Daisy Oaten, Grace Smith and Sophia Neil and they also gave performances between the sticks. There could have been a lot of players who picked up the player of the match but in the end it was Amber Fells who turned in a brilliant performance for her endless running and in doing so picked up the title player of the match from both sides.

It was an interesting match between the STACY 8 Girls Romans and STACY 8 Girls Central as there was plenty of goals from both sides and scoring for the Romans was Nadeen Kelifa-Young 2, Amelia Follis and Ellie Roberts. The goalscorers for the Central team were Isabella Habbouchi 2 and two for Jessica Kutcher 2 and the joint player of the match for the Central 8 Girls were Evie Rosenheim and Bella Batcheler.

Playing Wheathampstead Wanderers Sharks at home saw the 18 Orient eventually 2-1 after a very tight game with Milan Sanderson scoring the Orient goal and James Haworth being named player of the match.

In the 2nd round of the challenge cup saw the 15 South take on Wheathampstead Wanderers Pumas at home and the South ran out easy winners by eight goals to nil. In a very close match with both sides having a share of the lead saw the 15 West pick up a point as they drew 3-3 at home to Berkhamsted Raiders White with goals from Alfie Gauthier, Charlie Trulock-Faulkner and John Henry-Yeo.

The 14 West also played a Berkhamsted Raiders team and they were the Reds and just a single goal from Freddie Penford was enough to secure all three points with a 1-0 win whilst Samuel Morris was named man of the match.

The 14 Orient lost 6-1 away to Echoes in round one of the challenge cup, sorry but that is all the news we have!

The 14 Boreal had a good 3-1 victory at home to Tring Tornadoes Tigers with goals from Blenor Brahim, Jackson McArthur and Ali Nawar with Alex La Placa picking up the man of the match title.

It was a different story for the 14 Central as they crashed to a 6-2 defeat at home Sandridge Rovers Tigers(there is plenty of these Tigers running loose!) with Davide Iacobucci and Oliver Taylor scoring the goals for Central with the man of the match being awarded to Matthew Croston.

Also losing 6-2 were the 13 South as they played Ware EJA in round four of the county cup which was not a bad result in the end as they were only losing 3-2 at the break against a very stronger team. Both teams had chances, but the Ware lads were just that more clinical in the second half. Scoring the goals for the South were Freddie Yeo and one for man of the match Josh Smith.

In round one of the challenge cup saw the 13 Arrows travel the short distance to play Hemel Youth Blue and once again the Arrows found the target as they went on to win 5-0. Fin Murphy scored a superb hat-trick whilst their further goals from Joe Clinton and man of the match Alfie Wollington.

The Sarrat Rebels certainly had their rebellion squashed as the 13 Central beat them 10-1 at home with that Roarke Silcox getting amongst the goals again and this time it was 4. The other goalscorers were Dean Bladon 3, Michael Federico, Sam Johnson and Jack Reeves with Ollie Chisholm being named as man of the match.

Well if you wanted to see plenty of goals than this was the match to watch as the 13 West played Hemel Youth White away with the scoreline being at the final whistle and despite the West scoring seven goals they eventually lost 9-7, wow! Scoring the West goals were Harry Gaines 2, Josh Ladyman 2, Jasper Button, Matthew Gosling and Rory Graham.

Away to Cassiobury Rangers Blue were the 13 Dragons and they also lost a very exciting match with the score being 6-4 to Cassiobury and scoring the goals for the unlucky Dragons were Daniel Minihan 2, Josh Francois and Mickey Napier with Sam Magee being named man of the match.

The 12 Gladiators lost 5-1 to their visitors who certainly had the sting in their tail Hemel Aces Stingers with wait for it Aimar Villanueva Garcia scoring The Gladiators only goal of the game. The man of the match went to Ethan Evans.

Jayden Wright scored the consolation goal for the 12 Centurions as they lost heavily away to Harpenden Colts Raiders.

The 12 Romans were away to Berkhamsted Raiders Green and went down 4-2 with man of the match Louis Anderson scoring one goal for the Romans as did Luke Glennon.

At last some good news for one of the 12's teams as the 12 Orient beat their fellow club mates 12 South 9-0 with goals from Alfie Long 2, Oscar Pawley 2, Michael Wadsworth, Megan Francis, Joshua Kane plus two from man of the match Adam Lorman.

In the battle of the Saints it was the Harpenden Colts Saints who came out on top as they played the 12 West by winning 2-0 with Evan Reid being named man of the match for the West after having a good game out on the right midfield.

After a close match between the 18 South and Whetstone Lions saw both teams hit a few goals between them with the South just edging it by winning the game 6-5. Scoring the goals for the South away at Whetstone were Louis Baker-Madec 2, William Brown, James Latter, Adam Robinson and Luca De Olivera.

Leading 3-0 at half time at home to Harvesters South were the 18 Central with goals from Matt Roome, Callum Cornish plus a screamer from Angelo Calatrava. In the second half Harvesters scored two goals but the Central themselves scored two more goals to win the game 5-2. Matty Bleakley got the Saints fourth goal with assists from Josh Penning and Robbie Ferguson whilst Matt Roome scored the 5th and final goal for Central.

Two goals in each half for HMH Galaxy saw the 16 East eventually lose 4-0.

In the county cup saw the 13 Orient play Bengeo Tigers Sumatrans and a goal from Harry Rumble put the Saints 1-0 up and then a well taken penalty from man of the match Frankie Linsell gave them a 2-0 lead. The Tigers pulled a goal back late on but it was not enough as the Saints defended well with Josh Toop standing out in the back line and keeper Vicente Luciani having a outstanding game between the sticks.

The 13 Spartans defensive wall could not be breached as they beat Whetstone Cougars with Dewayne Mitchell scoring two goals and Isam Jamil whilst Felix Mensah was named man of the match.

The 11 West were at home to Maccabi London Lions Blue and scoring a goal for the young Saints was Lennon McKessick with Freddie Nelson-Thorpe being named man of the match whilst Kyle Lloyd also had a good game as well.
