Level 1 Coaching Course
There is a FA Level 1 Coaching Course taking place at Nicholas Breakspear School during October, the link to the FA Booking page for this course is on our website.
However, there are a number of Safeguarding Children Workshops at various locations available on the Herts FA website:
The Guidelines for the online renewal process have been tweaked slightly, we have published a PDF of the new instructions on the clubs website, click this link:
Just another reminder please check that your Safeguarding certification is up to date, if not then please put it right. To check go to the Herts FA website and log into Members Services with your FAN Number.
For any of the above contact Ian or Mervyn to start the DBS process.
First Aid Courses
A number of managers First Aid Qualification is due for renewal:
There are courses available on the Herts FA Website, go to:
Equipment (Match and Training Balls, Bibs and other Coaching Aids
As advised on the clubs website Laurence Wilson for equipment ordering, (email@example.com), this is for orders such as match and training balls, training bibs, cones, first aid kits and club bags etc. Please email Laurence with your order, he will then place the order with Minerva. As in previous years, when your orders are available you will be notified, at which point you will need to collect from Minerva. Please collect them quickly as we do not want to clog up Minerva’s available space.
Playing and Training Kit
The process for Kit orders has not changed (this includes all Sponsored Kit), orders are being handled by Louise Shepherd, Louise can be contacted via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
For ad-hoc kit orders such as training tops, sweatshirts etc these can be ordered and paid for direct from our club web page on the Henry Tilly website, click on the Club Shop link on our website. However, if you have a sponsor for any kit (playing or training) please go via Louise.
If you have a Potential Sponsor and they would like to see what options are available send them our Sponsorship Options Flyer which is available to download from the website at:
Once the option is agreed pass the details (Name of Sponsor, Sponsorship Option and Amount) to the Club Treasurer who will raise and invoice, once confirmed you will be able to speak with Louise Shepherd about placing your order.
Playing and Training Kit
As with equipment, many teams will be looking for new playing kit for next season, remember All Sponsored Kit orders are being handled by Louise Shepherd, Louise can be contacted via email on email@example.com
For ad-hoc kit orders (non-sponsored) such as training tops, sweatshirts etc these can be ordered and paid for direct from our new club web page on the Henry Tilly website, click on the Club Shop link on our website.
Online Player Registration System
There have been a few issues with the Club Registration System, mainly with players moving to a new team. We are testing with a couple of managers the admin facility so the manager is notified when a player registers for the team, once sorted it will be rolled out.
Teams and Mascots at St Albans City
Last season a number of teams took advantage of their teams being mascots at Clarence Park. If any of the younger teams are interested please contact Phill Coates at Clarence Park using his email firstname.lastname@example.org.
City Youth Day at Clarence Park
City Youth Day at Clarence Park will be on 13th October, the Saints will be at home to Bath. A double bonus is that City Youth day will also be Non-League. We will be looking for Player Mascots (one for each St Albans and Bath Player). We would like all City Youth players to come along in their City Youth Kit to make Clarence Park a sea of Yellow and Blue. Laurence will be organising the day for City Youth and be liaising with Phill Coates at the Senior Club.
Junior Saints Scheme
Every City Youth Player will become a member of the Junior Saints Scheme, Membership Cards are currently being printed and will be circulated to all managers (by Laurence) in the coming weeks. This will enable City Youth Players to gain access to games at Clarence Park with a paying adult.
Summer Coaching Camp 2018
The three weeks of this years Summer Coaching Camp were a fantastic success with over 600 places booked over the three weeks, which is almost a new record.
A big thankyou to Sam Russell and all the coaches for making this camp so popular. We must also thank the National League Trust for their support in making these camps possible.
The next camp will be during the October Half Term (29th October to 2nd November) details will be published on line shortly.
U12 South: Played in a preseason tournament this weekend. They played a side from Leicester in the final who were dirty and represented 'everything wrong about youth football'. St Albans South won on penalties and displayed good behaviour throughout.
U13 West: Played their first 11 a ‘side match and drew 3-3. The team played well considering it was their first time playing with eleven players on the field.
There was an inter club tournament this weekend amongst the Under 12 teams consisting of three STACY sides and a Borehamwood team. It was all played in good spirit.
U17/18: Questions as to what the link is with St Albans City Youth and the St Albans City first team. There has recently been effort to make a clear pathway system between the two sides. This has been proven successful with the U18 EJA team run by Andy Lawrence.
Laurence Wilson and Lawrence Levy have recently had a meeting regarding an educational academy.
Geoff Watts - If you are using the Samuel Ryder Academy Astro for training then please park in the main car park. There is a path from the car park to the Astro turf currently being built. Please turn up 10 minutes early for the first few weeks.
Terry Edwards: Please text him results for this weekend’s matches
Ian Woods: If a player has been sent off, please contact his straight away.
Matt Gauthier: There is no training at Samuel Ryder on 27th September.
The next meeting will be on Sunday 30th September 2018
