St Albans City Youth – Boys

 

Under 18

 

Playing at home to Comet Sports saw the Under 18 West cruise to a 5 – 0 victory with goals from Adam Hazelwood, Matt Keane, Sam Waters-Rathjen, Paolo Ditri plus one from man of the match Tawanda Manenji.

 

Also having a good win were the Under 18 Orient as they beat Nascot Wood 5 – 1. Leading the scorers was Oscar Rutherford-Hughes with two wile Stephen Heather, Zac Moore and man of the match Shiloh Wallace scored one goal apiece.

 

Under 16

 

In the second round of the League Cup the Under 16 East WFL played London Maccabi Lions and went down 4 – 0 after a close first half. The man of the match went to defender Will Daly.

 

At home to Hemel Town in the League Cup the Under 16 Orient lost 2 – 1 with Bill Llewelyn-Jones scoring their only goal.

 

Playing away to Bovingdon were the Under 16 Central and despite goals from Jack Cummings and man of the match Harrison Gates the Saints found their hosts to strong and went down 9 – 2.

 

Another Under 16 team going out of the League Cup were the Under 16 South against Bovingdon Red as they went down 5 – 2. Scoring the Saints goals were Ronan Marie-Moutou and Omar Bounyafe. Brad Slocombe was named man of the match.

 

To complete a poor day for the Under 16s teams the Under 16 East WHYL lost to Comet Cougars in the League. Charlie Reading was named man of the match.

 

Under 15

 

In the County Cup the Under 15 North put on a good display but went down 7 – 3 against Hemel Aces Tigers. Leading the scorers for the Saints was Archie Hall with two and Cameron Clark scored a single. The man of the match went to the hard working Rob Devine.

 

The Under 15 Orient also played in the County Cup and recorded a fine 6 – 1 victory over Wormley Youth at home. Leading the scorers were Ibrahim Rahman with a brilliant hat trick plus singles from Luke Gymer, Karis Bloomfield and Oscar Durrant. The passion and determination of Lewis Chippington throughout the game earned him the man of the match.

 

At home to Everett Rovers saw the Under 15 East lose 3 – 2 after a very close and tight match with Stefano Finks and David Ikete (who was also man of the match) scoring the East’s goals.

 

Under 14

 

In the Challenge Cup the Under 14 North progressed to the next round with a 5 – 2 home win over Edmonton. Scoring the goals were Billy Owen with two, Daniel Banerjee also with two and Tom Geller with one.

 

The scoreline was 1 – 1 at half time in the match between the Under 14 East and Chorleywood Hurricane with Ben Spencer scoring. However, by the final whistle the Saints had gone down 3 – 1 with their shot stopper Luca Kershaw being named man of the match.

 

In a top of the table clash between the Under 14 Orient and Oxhey Jets the Saints found themselves 1 – 0 down but just before the break a delightful lofted shot from Peter Rock drew them level at 1 – 1. In the second period the Orient stepped up a gear and scored three more goals to win the game 4 – 2. Scoring the remaining goals were Alex Sharkey, Dylan Handscombe and a near post header from Kai Hobbs.

 

Under 13

 

The Under 13 North had a 4 – 2 win over Bushey and Oxhey Tigers in the Intermediate Cup. The scorers for the Saints were Myles Donkin 2, Freddie Collins and Diego Pazaran-Butler.

 

Playing away to AC Finchley South in the League Cup were the Under 13 South and they had a good 6 – 0 victory. Leading the scorers for the Saints were Anthony Graham 2 followed by Louis Baker-Madec, Dan Eaves, Conor Kelly and Finley Camp. The man of the match went to Cillian Webb.

 

The Under 13 East went down to Hadley Wood & Wingate Foxes with defender Mustaqim Boksh being named man of the match. No wonder the lost playing two teams at once!

 

At home to Watford Town the Under 13 Orient came out on top by the odd goal in seven with a 4 – 3 victory. Scoring the goals for the Orient were Ollie Gilmour 2, Samual Beasley and one from Midfield Dynamo and man of the match Ross Hermon.

 

Under 12

 

In the League Cup the Under 12 West won by four goals to one over London Maccabi Whites with man of the match Jack Cullen scoring all four goals with some deadly finishing.

 

The Under 12 East Blue had a sound 3 – 1 win in the Challenge Cup 3 – 1 over local rivals St Albans Rangers Blue. The goal scorers were Lorenzo Johnson with two, which takes his tally for the season to nineteen. The other goal was scored by Charlie Battle who chested the ball down before swivelling and blasting the ball into the top corner. Having a great game for the East Blue were defenders Alex Kirton and Will Austin.

 

On the next pitch the Under 12 East Yellow won 6 – 2 against Tornados JSC with Freddie Laycock scoring a fine hat trick. Oscar Evans scored two goals, both of which were penalties, Sujad Hussain netted the sixth goal.

 

Now we come to the non-competitive boys games.

 

Under 11

 

The Under 11 North played away to Evergreen. George Wilson scored for the Saints in a match that saw lots of skill with plenty of chances and endeavour.

 

Also playing away were the Under 11 South who were at Welwyn Garden City Youth there were goals from Adam Savides 2 and Charlie Johnson also scoring two goals. The man of the match went to keeper Dylan Campos.

 

The Under 11 East played Wheathamstead Wanderers Tigers with Callum Maguire scoring. The man of the match went to Arjun Singh.

 

The Under 11 West had a good game with Wormley Youth with goals from Leo Tashev and man of the match Finn Geoghegan.

 

Under 10

 

Playing away to Broomfield Academy were the Under 10 East, there were goals from Jensen Dean 2 and Joe McLeod.

 

Also playing away were the Under 10 Victoria who had a good match with Hemel Aces Lions. There were goals from Oscar Bell, Martin Flore and Freddie Roe. There was a second half of superb football with some excellent skills on show. The man of the match went to Noor Dajani.

 

The Under 10 West played Wormley Youth Reds and there were goals from Cody Smith and Sam Miles. There was a joint man of the match which was shared between Isaac Templeton and Alex Duffy.

 

Playing away to Wormley Youth were the Under 10 Central. Scoring for the Saints were Toby Joyce and man of the match Oliver Taylor.

 

Under 9

 

The Under 9 North played at home to Cheshunt Youth and Adam Gardner scored for the Saints.

 

The Under 9 South played Wormley Blacks, there were goals from Josh Smith 3 (plus he was named man of the match), James Beasley, Freddie Yeo and Asa Stewart-Harris.

 

The Under 9 East played Hertford Town and Will Antcliffe scored whilst midfielder Joshua Kleiner-Mann was named man of the match.

 

The Under 9 West played their first home match for some time against Nascot Wood. Harry Gaines scored and was also named man of the match.

 

The Under 9 Orient played Sun Sports at home. There were goals from Dean Bladon 3, Alex Hails 2, Albert Postema 2, Lucas Berry 2, Thomas Boca-Mapp and Josh Topp.

 

The Under 9 Saxons played at home to The Under 9 Dragons in an inter club match. There were goals from Ailbe Tidd, Christian Harvey, Joshua Francois, Max Austin, Dylan Norman and Michael Napier. The man of the match went to Vinnie Ogden.

 

Playing away to Hurst drive were the Under 9 Romans. Keeper Arlo Webb had a great game and was named man of the match.

 

Under 8

 

The Under 8 North played Elite Feet. There were goals from Charlie Yeo 3, Jacob Standing 2, Alfie Bedell and Christopher Datubu. Ethan Evans was named man of the match.

 

The Under 8 South played Potters Bar and Harrison Smith was named man of the match.

 

The Under 8 East played Hoddesdon Blacks and there were goals from Arthur Rennie-Sivell 5, Samuel Philpot and Dylan Jack.

 

The Under 8 West played a great match at home with Broxbourne Borough Indigos. There were goals from Toby Short 3 (great strike for his last goal), Daniel Day and Romeo Rojas. The man of the match went to Alex Evershed for his great performance in his first game for the Saints.

 

St Albans City Youth – Girls

 

Under 16

 

The Under 16 Girls South played at home to Harpenden and found themselves 1 – 0 down after only five minutes’ play, but with ten minutes to go they won a penalty and up stepped player of the match Abby Smith to bury the ball into the back of the net to make the final score 1 – 1.

 

Playing away to Bedford Girls were the Under 16 Girls North and following a tight game the North eventually went down 4 – 2. The North could only field ten players and their opponents did not want to drop down. Danielle Tyler scored both of the Norths goals. Defender Isabella Poole was named player of the match.

 

Under 15

 

Melissa Trulock scored a consolation goal for the Under 15 North as they went down to Kinja Thunder. The player of the match went to keeper Katie Runacres.

 

The Under 15 Girls South lost to Harvesters with the Saints goals coming from Grainne Kellett and player of the match Alice Benson.

 

Under 14

 

The Under 14 Girls lost to Bury Rangers but the result was not a true reflection of the game as nothing went their way despite them having a good part of the match.

 

Under 13

 

Playing away to Boreham Wood Girls, the Under 13 Girls won the game by four goals to nil with Mia Pinkham scoring yet another brace of goals to take her tally for the season to 23. Scoring the other two goals were Laura Gifford and Grace Baker-Roberts.

 

Under 12

 

Playing at home to Bedwell Rangers were the Under 12 Girls South who earned a point with a 2 – 2 draw. The goals were scored by Zoe Cowan 2 whilst defender Lucy Schalkwyk was named player of the match.

 

Playing Hitchin Belles were the Under 12 Girls North who lost 4 – 3 to a late goal. The player of the match was keeper Lucy Waterhouse who produced some excellent saves during the match. Scoring the goals was Charlotte Gurney with two, one of which was straight from the kick off as she took all the players on and finished perfectly. The other goal was scored by Bethany Gurton.

 

Now we come to the Girls non-competitive games.

 

Under 11

 

The Under 11 Girls South played at home to Harpenden Colts Bobcats and there were goals from Natasha Adams 3 and Celeste Jones.

 

Under 10

 

The Under 10 Girls South played at home to Herts Girls Blacks.

 

Under 9

 

The Under 9 Girls North played Garston Panthers and there were goals from Amy Reeves with two. The player of the match went to Masie Francis.

 

Under 8

 

The Under 8 Girls played at home to Bedwell Rangers and there were goals scored by Laila Brown 4, Maya Deans 3 and Rebbeca Smith 3. The player of the match went to Bailey Killner.
