St Albans City Youth – Boys
First Win of the Season for the Deaf team
The St Albans City Youth Deaf team clinched their first win of the season in the deaf league away to Charlton Deaf by four goals to two. The goal scorers for the Saints were Kevin Walker with a brace and great individual goals from skipper Andrew Tobin and Wishu Pushpalingham. Next up for the Saints Deaf Team will be a trip to Birmingham Deaf FC in the first round of the EDF Cup next Sunday.
The Under 18 Warriors played at home to Alexandra Park and the scoreline at half time was 0 – 0 but in the second period the Warriors suddenly clicked and went on to record a 6 – 0 victory. The first goal was scored by Stuart Peet with a low drive into the bottom left corner of the net after being setup by Nico Oliveria. Stuart Peet also scored the second after keeping his feet inside the box after being tripped but he kept going and blasted the ball into the net. For the third goal Eddie Amato drove home a penalty kick which was awarded, yes, you have it, after Peet was brought down inside the box. Goals number four and five were both scored by Stuart Peet to take his tally for the game to four. The fifth goal was a delightful chip shot over the advancing keeper following a great through ball from Will Spencer. Making it 6 – 0 was Nico De Oliveria from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box by the keeper. Footnote to this story from the club’s reporter, never leave your bag on the grass whilst getting the names of the goal scorers as the manager’s dog cocked a leg. The bag and its contents (newspapers etc.) had to be thrown in the bin.
The Under 18 East and the Under 18 Orient fought out a exciting 2 – 2 draw in the WHYL Division One fixture. Scoring the goals for the East were Conor Moore and Luke Winks whilst man of the match Oscar Rutherford-Hughes and Barney Nils Folan scored for the Orient team.
16 North into the County Cup Fourth Round
The Under 16 North played away in the third round of the County Cup against Chorleywood Common Youth Lions. it was a good game for the Saints with the final score of Six goals to one and thus moving the North into the next round. The Norths goal scorers were Alfie Booth, Hugh Gaffney, two goals from Gianpaolo Manzi (Jumpy), Curtis Finch and Youness Bakhti. The man of the match wen to Ilias Bakhti.
In a one sided match the Under 16 East WFL had to wait until the last twenty minutes to score two goals to record a 2 – 0 win over Brady Maccabi Whites. Scoring the goals were Cain Joseph and Ollie Pawlaczek with the man of the match going to Luke Gibbins.
The Under 16 WHYL played Bushey and Oxhey Jets in a Division Three match. The Saints went on to lose the game 6 – 0 despite putting in a battling performance. The man of the match went to Ashley Ojuederie.
Playing local rivals Harvesters were the Under 15 South and in a match that could have gone either way it finally finished all square at 3 – 3. The first two goals were scored by Harry Smith, man of the match Callum Furness netted the third.
Also taking part in a 3 – 3 draw were the Under 15 Orient and Chorleywood Gunners in a end to end match. Scoring the goals for the Orient were Ibrahim Rahman who was also named man of the match, Lewis Chippington and Finbar King.
The Under 13 Central played a friendly against club mates the Under 13 North, the final score was 11 – 3 to the Central. Man of the match Luke Hill scored 5 and Ben Sommerbauer 3, Josh Penning, Daniel Onochie-Williams and Joe Moss scored for the Central. For the North Jack Geldard hit a brace and Myles Donkin scored a single.
At home to Harpenden Colts Magpies were the Under 13 Orient and they won 2 – 0 with Ollie Gilmour scoring the first goal and Ross Hermon scored the second. Giving a strong supporting holding role was man of the match Logan Subramanian. During the game Max Varney hit the post with a thundering free kick and keeper Daniel Breeze pulled off a fantastic save at a key point in the game.
Playing away to AC Finchley were the Under 12 West who returned with all three points thanks to a 1 – 0 victory in a Red Division game. Scoring the Saints goal was Aidan Walsh. The man of the match was keeper Max Emmett who pulled off some fine saves during the game.
Now we come to the non-competitive boy’s games.
The Under 11 South played 3 – 5 to Sumners Youth in a very good but close match. Scoring the goals for the Saints was Charlie Johnson 2 and Mackie Gibson. The man of the match went to Dylan Campos.
The Under 9 Orient played Chorleywood. Scoring for the Saints was Bertie Postema with a cross-cum-shot. The man of the match went to Adam Oldfield who was outstanding at the back, mention must also go to keeper Harry Gaines who had a great match between the sticks.
The Under 9 Central played away to Tring. The man of the match for the Saints was Tyler Hall.
The Under 8 North played Potters Bar Crusaders in a fantastic game with skills on show from both teams. Scoring for the Saints was Charlie Yeo 2, Christopher Datubo and star player Jacob Standing.
The Under 8 West played away to Burt Rangers Blue. There were goals from Romeo Rojas 6, Toby Short 2, Daniel Day and one from man of the match Freddie Stewart.
The Under 16 Girls Futsal team played a friendly against All Stars Futsal and won the match 7 – 3 with Emily Schofield scoring four goals, there were further goals from Shauna Smith 2 and Danielle Tyler. The player of the match went to Grainne Kellett.
Playing Bedwell Rangers were the Under 14 Girls and they finally went down 2 – 1 after a closely fought out game with Bo Westcombe-Evans scoring their only goal. There was a joint player of the match which was shared between Nicola Lang and Claudia Scrimgeour.
The Under 12 Girls South played away to Berkhamsted Raiders and lost by the odd goal in five 3 - 2. Scoring the goals for the Saints was Jasmine Price with two goals.
The Under 12 Girls North lost away to Harvesters, there were goals for the Saints scored by Olivia Banks and Charlotte Gurney.
Now we come to the non-competitive girl’s games.
The Under 11 Girls North played Watford Ladies and there were goals from Tatyana Barton 2, Ruby Tickner 2 (plus Ruby was named player of the match), Katie Leigh, Edie Shakespeare, Kiera Ward and Caitlin Wheeler.
