St Albans City Youth – Boys
The Under 18 Warriors played Pinner United and it was the Warriors who came out on top with a great 5 – 0 victory which now puts the Saints top of the League Table. Scoring the goals for the Saints were Stuart Peet 2, Nico De Oliveria, Joe Weaver and Will Spencer. Jamal Baig was named man of the match for the Saints.
In the County Cup the Under 18 West went down to Hatfield Youth with Ellis Allan scoring the Wests consolation goal.
Also in the County Cup were the Under 18 Orient and they were beaten by Potters Bar. Ben Bolton was named man of the match for the Orient.
In the League Cup the Under 16 East WFL played Aldenham Warriors, at the end of normal time the score was level at 4 – 4, but in extra time the Saints went on to win the game 6 – 4. There were six different goal scorers, Harvey Trounson, Joe Stockwell, Ewan Brand, Ollie Barnett, Cain Joseph plus a beauty from Tom Levy. The pacey right back Giuseppe Basile was named man of the match.
Playing at home to Sun Sports were the Under 16 Orient and with two goals from Will Ibbotson and singles from Ashley Price and Tom Barrett the Saints earned a 4 – 0 victory.
The Under 16 Central lost to Everett Rovers with Steve Gee scoring the centrals consolation goal. James Wood who played well at left back was named man of the match.
The Under 16 South played Herons Black in the Challenge Cup and after a very close and tight game it was the South who emerged victorious with a 3 – 2 win. Scoring the goals were Omar Bounyafe 2 and Khalid Uddin. Tom Gordon was named man of the match.
Sam Abington scored two consolation goals for the Under 16 East WHYFL in their match with Comet Sports Club. The man of the match went to Michael Coffee.
The Under 15 South had a great 8 – 0 win over Panathinaikos in the League Cup with the goals being shared around the Souths team. The goals were scored by Harrison Arnold 2, Ross Weaver 2, Scott gentle, Tom Kellard, Callum Hunter plus one from man of the match Fin Banks who had a great game up front.
Playing away to Abbots Youth Red in the WFL Red Division saw the Under 15 Orient go down 2 – 1. Man of the match Ibrahim Rahman scored the orients goal.
Two goals from Lochy Hedge and singles from David Ikete, Stephano Finks and Demetrius Johnson gave the Under 15 East a 5 – 0 win over Nascot Wood. The man of the match went to Elliot Johnson.
In a tough WFL Red Division match between the Under 14 North and Berkhamsted Raiders Red it was the Saints who came out on top with a fine 3 – 1 win. Joe Williams, Billy Owen and Emir Johnston scored the goals for the North whilst there was a joint man of the match which was shared between Dan Banerjee who had a brilliant game at centre half and Ed Mann who was superb in midfield.
Playing away to Everett Rovers were the Under 14 West who had a fantastic 7 – 0 win which puts them top of the league. Leading the goal scorers was James Knapp with a well taken hat trick, then came Adam Johnson and Stefan Martin both hitting a brace.
The Under 14 East played away at Watford Town Youth and although it was a close match the Saints eventually went down 3 – 1. Harry Peter scored the East’s goal whilst his brother Aaron was named man of the match.
In the Challenge Cup at Evergreen Youth the Under 14 orient went down 3 – 2 with Peter Rock scoring both of the Saints goals. Emmanuel Abu-Sayf, who had a good game in goal was named man of the match.
The Under 13 North played away to Watford Youth in the Challenge Cup and despite a valiant effort which saw them almost create an upset by knocking out opposition from the division above they finally lost 3 – 2 after an exciting end to end game with Myles Donkin plus one own goal being their scorers.
A goal from Will Baynham in the first half and then one from Connor Kelly gave the Under 13 South a 2 – 0 home win over Harvesters. Luca DeOliveira who had an excellent game in midfield was named man of the match.
The Under 13 Central played at home to Evergreen Youth in what was a tough match against a big and well organised team, but patience and persistence got the Saints through and they went on to win the game 3 – 1. The goal scorers for the Saints were Daniel Williams with two and Matt Roome with one. The man of the match went to Dan Hussain who was great as centre back against some big strikers.
At home to AC Finchley the Under East took a 1 – 0 lead with a well taken opportunistic goal from man of the match Nasir Zaman. Despite the East having a lot of pressure on the visitors goal their attempts did not go in, however Finchley took their chances to win the match 5 – 1.
Away to Croxley saw the Under 13 Orient nearly snatched a point with a goal from man of the match Max Varney but in the very last minute of the match Croxley scored the winning goal for the Orient to go down 2 – 1.
Playing away to Knebworth Tigers in the County Cup were the Under 12 West and the West certainly blunted the claws of their hosts with a fine 4 – 0 win. Tomas Robertson led the way with a brilliant hat trick, Mark Lake scored the fourth goal.
The Under 12 North, who played Buntingford, thought their luck had deserted them, after taking a 3 – 1 lead the visitors hit back to make it 3 – 3 with four minutes to go. Goals from man of the match Finlay Tetlow, Louie Sampson and Thomas Coulling gave the Saints the three goal lead. Into extra time and the North scored a further two goals (both scored by Thomas Coulling to complete his hat trick) to win the game 5 – 3. For Buntingford Charlie Fountain was named man of the match for his hard work in midfield.
Away to Stevenage Borough Juniors in the County Cup were the Under 12 South and after a close match it was the young saints who came out on top with a 2 – 1 victory. Scoring the first goal was George Sippetts and the second was scored by man of the match Jack O’Rahilly.
Now we come to the Boy’s non-competitive age groups (Under 11 and lower).
The Under 11 South played Cuffley and Adam Savides scored two goals and was also named man of the match.
The Under 11 East played Cheshunt Blues and the man of the match for the Saints went to Ahmed Mrabate thanks to some superb passing of the ball.
The Under 11 West played Codicote Youth Reds, there were goals from Finlay Rees 3, Leo Tashevi, Finn Geoghegani. The man of the match went to Aaron Rawlings.
The Under 10 South played Bengeo Tigers Bengals, there were goals from Jed Ejjayha 2 (he was denied a hat trick by a shot cannoning off both posts and missing the net). Jack Knibbs and one from man of the match Joe Varney.
The Under 10 East had a great game with Stevenage, there were goals from Liam Lavin 2, Joel Whitworth 2 and Harry Stone.
The Under 10 Victoria played away to Harpenden Harriers, there were goals from Zak Davies and Freddie Roe. The man of the match went to centre back Martin Flore.
The Under 10 West played Lemsford Youth Lions, there were goals from Sam Mills 2. Keeper Alexi Rojas was named man of the match.
The Under 1- West played away at Wheathamstead Cougars. The goals were scored by Akere Ngu 3 and one from man of the match Jack Bromwich.
The Under 10 Orient played Ware Lions Whites. The goals were scored by man of the match Antonio Penetra and Luke Hayden.
The Under 9 North played Hertford Bucks and scoring the goals were Adam Gardner 3, Noah Butler and Sean Gallagher.
The Under 9 South played Knebworth Lions Oranges, Asa Stewart-Harris scored midway into the second period.
The Under 9 East played Potters Bar Crusades, Johnny Bennett scored a hat trick and was also named man of the match.
The Under 9 West played Harpenden Pumas, Rory Graham scored and Arian Benejee was named man of the match.
The Under 9 Orient played at home to Harpenden Colts, Dean Bladon scored and was also named man of the match.
The Under 9 Central played a match with Bovingdon, the goals were scored by Ethan Siegar 3 and Tyler Hall 2. The man of the match went to standin keeper Ollie Ward.
The Under 9 Arrows played Ware Rangers Flamengo. There were goals from Arthur McLaughlin 2, Oscar Noble and man of the match Louis Godfrey. Keeper Max Butterworth made two amazing saves. Overall this was the team’s best performance of the season.
The Under 9 Dragons played East Herts Youth. There were goals from Dylan Norman, Michael Napier and Joshua Francois. The man of the match went to Alfie Brown.
The Under 9 Saxons played Harlow Harriers. The goals were scored by Luca Callegari and Fin Murphy.
The Under 9 Romans played Welwyn Pegasus Sky. Ryan Kennedy and Imad Syed scored.
The Under 8 North played Elite Feet, the goal was scored by Jacob Standing, the man of the match went to Chris Datubo.
The Under 8 South played Welwyn Garden City Harlequins and Charlie Nicholson scored two goals.
The Under 8 West played away to Ware Youth, there were goals from man of the match Romeo Rojas 3, Daniel Day, Toby Short and Freddie Stewart.
The Under 8 East played Elite Feet Southgate Lions with goals from Arthur Rennie-Sivell 3, Leon Rainey, Arthur Vessey and William Dorey.
The Under 16 Girls South romped to a 7 – 1 victory over Bedford Phoenix. The player of the match went to Eleanor Jenkins who scored a great hat trick. Also hitting three goals was Rosie McGahan. The final goal was scored by Abby Smith.
The Under 16 Girls North had a tough League Cup match away to highflying Luton. Although the North kept battling to the final whistle they went down 8 – 2. Emily Schofield scored both of the Saints goals, Nicola Gosling was named player of the match.
Playing away to Garston Ladies were the Under 14 Girls who eventually went down 5 – 3. Scoring the goals for the Saints were Hannah McCorkindale 2 and Hayley Aldridge-Trounce. The player of the match went to the hard working Isabel Yates.
The Under 13 Girls won 5 – 2 at home in the League Cup to Garston ladies with Mia Pinkham scoring a glorious hat trick. Laura Gifford scored the other two goals. Georgia McConaghie was named player of the match.
Now we come to the Girl’s non-competitive age groups (Under 11 and lower).
The Under 11 Girls North played the Broomfield Academy and the goals were scored by Tatyana Barton 4, Katie Leigh 4, Keria Ward 2 and Caitlin Wheeler. The player went to Edie Shakespeare after a good team performance.
The Under 11 Girls South played Chorleywood with Gabby Templeman scoring the Saints goal.
The Under 10 Girls North played Berkhamsted Raiders Red. There were goals from Emily Mills, Thisbe Danford and one from player of the match Ruby Peacock.
The Under 10 South played Bedwell Rangers Stars. The goals were scored by Grace McMurray 2 and Masie Humphreys.
The Under 9 Girls North played Berkhamsted Raiders Red at home. There were goals scored by player of the match Evie Cussans 4, Amy Reeves 2 and Ruby Littlechild.
The Under 9 Girls South played a fun game and Stella Ekbald scored with the player of the match going to Annalise Moss.
The Under 8 Girls played a great game with Garston Ladies Pumas. Laila Brown scored for the Saints and the player of the match went to Emma Bracey.
