St Albans City Youth – Boys
The Under 18 Warriors played away to Mill Hill and they proved to be too strong for their opponents as the cruised to an 8 – 2 victory. Leading the way was Joe Weaver with an excellent hat trick, then came Nico De Olievia with two goals followed by Will Spencer, Lewis Glasscoe and Stuart Peet with singles. Lawrence Wilson was named man of the match.
The Under 18 Orient also had a good win away playing Comet Sports with a 6 – 1 score line Oscar Hughes led the way with three goals whilst Owen Ladbrooke scored two and Jake Mlodecki one. The man of the match went to Stephen Heather.
Goals from Nayeem Ahmed and Adam Purkiss gave the Under 16 Orient a 2 – 1 victory against Chorleywood Common.
In the County Cup the Under 16 South lost their keeper Richard Ashu with a broken Wrist and he is now out of action for 12 weeks. The Club wishes Richard all the best for a speedy recovery. Back to the game, Jack Armstrong and Omar Bounyafe took it in turns between the sticks but they could not stop Royston from winning the game 5 – 1. Ben Gosling scored the Saints only goal.
The Under 15 orient played two matches, in the first they drew 1 – 1 with Harvesters South with a goal from Harry Easterby and Jake Devereux was named man of the match. In their second game they played Harvesters North and lost 3 – 1 with Ibrahim Rahman scoring for the Saints and the hard working Callum Lawrence was named man of the match.
The Under 15 North played Kings Langley and went down 6 – 0 with Adam Roberts picking up the teams man of the match award.
In the Red Division the Under 14 North took on Bushey Rangers away and at half time the score line was 1 – 0. In the second half super sub Joe Williams came of the bench and scored a fantastic goal into with a cracking shot into the top corner of the net. Williams also had a hand in setting up a couple of more goals for the North. The North finally won the game 5 – 2 and scoring the other goals were Billy Owen and Ryan Orde both with two goals each. The man of the match went to Joe Williams.
Playing at home to Kings Langley Ospreys were the Under 14 West who were trailing 1 – 0 at half time but in the second half Stefan Martin scored an equalising goal for the game to end all square at 1 – 1. Will Shepherd had a good game at centre back and Scott Redshaw was named man of the match.
Playing Chorleywood Hurricanes at home saw the Under 14 East lose 6 – 1 with Harry Peter scoring their consolation goal midway into the second half. The man of the match went to Ed Johnson-Rix.
Away to Park Street Village were the Under 14 Orient, two goals from Peter Rock plus one from Bly Wilding gave the Orient a 3 – 1 victory. There was a joint man of the match and it went to Drey Collarbone and Alfie Hansard-Scales.
Daniel Onochie Williams scored a brace for the Under 13 Central in their 3 – 1 away win at Chorleywood Common Vipers with Matt Roome scoring the third goal with a fine finish.
The Under 13 South were beaten 6 – 1 by Harvesters with Conor Kelly scoring their only goal. Centre half Antony Graham was named man of the match.
On his debut for the club Thomas Van Winden was named man of the match for the Under 13 Orient after some great defending at Watford Town Youth which saw the Saints win 5 – 3. Scoring the goals were Samuel Beasley 2, Ollie Gilmour 2 and Ross Hermon with a single.
Aiden Walsh scored the only goal for the Under 12 West in their 2 – 1 defeat to Belmont United.
Playing at home to Bushey & Oxhey saw Thomas Coulling score two goals in the second half for the Under 12 North as they fought back, however it was not enough as they went down 5 – 2 despite a good performance. Defender Joe Knee was named man of the match.
George Sippetts was back in goal scoring form when he hit a glorious hat trick for the Under 12 South in their 4 – 1 away win over Hemel Hempstead Town Red. Scoring the Souths fourth goal was Danny Fowler.
The Under 12 East Blue played two home games, in the first match they played Brady Maccabi Lions and won the game 8 – 3. Leading the goal scorers was Lorenzo Johnson with a hat trick, then came Dan Gant with two plus singles from Joe Stone, Charlie Battle and Alessandro Di Trolio. In their next game they had a comfortable 6 – 0 home win in a WFL fixture against Boreham Wood Youth. Once again Lorenzo Johnson scored three goals whilst Tom Merritt, Jack Jacobs and Charlie Battle all scored a goal each. Fin Killner nearly added to the score line but his great free kick flashed inches wide of the far post.
Also playing two matches were the Under 12 East Yellow, in their first game they beat Bovingdon Lightning away 7 – 0. Two players scored hat tricks, they were Oscar Evans and Brendon Trainis and Freddie Laycock notched a single. There second game was also away and the Saints won 3 – 0 against Aston Clinton with goals from William Miller, Freddie Laycock and Brandon Trainis.
The Possession Kings. The Under 11 North played Watford Town Youth Pumas away with Harrison Shaw scoring two of goals and Jake Berry scored a third.
The Under 11 West played Cuffley Vipers and scoring the goals for the Saints were Ben Collison and Alfie Gauthier. The man of the match went to the hard working Caleb Ezequiel.
Playing Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires were the Under 10 South. Scoring for the Saints was Sam Ejjayha, his brother Jed Ejjayha was named man of the match.
The Under 10 Victoria played an exciting home game against Bovingdon which saw them fightback when Zak Davies swept the ball home from the edge of the box.
Playing away to Knebworth Leopards were the Under 10 West, Alex Duffy scored.
The man of the match for the Under 10 Central was Jack Bromwich in their match with Risden Wood Rangers. The Saints goals were scored by Angus Twidell and Matt Penfold.
Playing East Herts, the Under 9 North played a good game. Scoring the goals were Antonio Desiderio, Adam Gardner plus on from man of the match Louis Daley.
Under 9 South and Sumners Youth played and there were goals from Thomas Maher and Steven Jacobs The man of the match was Owen Weaver.
Man of the match Will Antcliffe who scored two plus singles from Johnny Bennett and Tom Jennings for the Under 9 East in their match with Wormley.
The Under 9 West played away to Comet Sports Red. Jacob Eith scored the for the Saints. Joshua Woodley was named man of the match.
At home to Hoddesdon Town Blacks were the Under 9 Arrows. Man of the match Arthur McLaughlin found the bull four times.
The Under 9 Romans held back the attacks of Bury rangers Blacks. Scoring wereEvan Marr, Ryan Kennedy and Sonny Phillips.
The Under 9 Dragons played Bengeo Tigers Javans. Dylan Norman scored five goals and in doing so picked up the man of the match title. Scoring the remaining goals were Michael Napier and Joshua Francois.
Lucas Berry and Dima Gusev scored goals for the Under 9 Orient in their match with Berkhamsted Raiders Red with the man of the match going to Lucas Pate.
Under 9 Central played Bovingdon. The man of the match went to George Parker.
In their fun game with Bengeo Tigers the Under 8’s North players Judd Austin, Ethan Evans, Alfie Bedwell, Jacob Standing, Christopher Datubo plus man of the match Charlie Yeo all played well.
Also playing in a fun game were the Under 8 East with Leo Rainey scoring a goal in their fun match with Frontiers Youth Panthers.
The Under 16 Girls North earned a 1 – 1 draw with Harvesters with every player giving an excellent performance. Danielle Tyler scored the equalising goal and the player of the match went to team Captain and centre back Mary Leach.
Playing away to Bedford Girls were the Under 16 Girls South who stormed to a 6 – 3 victory with Abby Smith leading the way with a hat trick. Scoring the other goals were Aimee Smith 2 (she was also named player of the match) and Bethany Moss.
Melissa Trulock scored the only goal for the Under 15 Girls North as they lost 6 – 1 away to Evergreen. Jess Levy was named player of the match.
Playing at home to Kinja Thunder were the Under 15 Girls South and it was the Saints who stole the thunder as they recorded a 4 – 0 win. A goal from Grainne Kellett gave them a 1 – 0 lead, she then hit two more goals in the second half to complete her hat trick. A fine finish from Kira Close made it 4 – 0 to the Saints. New signing Lotty Nicholls earned the player of the match title.
The Under 14 Girls played at home to Garston and despite turning in a good solid display they eventually lost the game 2 – 0. Illinca Moraru was named player of the match.
The Under 13 Girls were also at home, playing Garston Lioness, the Saints managed to secure a 2 – 1 win with Katie Holder and new signing Mia Pinkham scoring the goals. Maz Horne-Batet was named player of the match.
The Under 12 Girls played away to Boreham Wood girls and lost 4 – 0. However they did play well overall with Emma To, who was making her debut for the Saints being named player of the match.
