St Albans City Youth – Boys
The Under 18 Orient played Nascot Wood and it proved to be an exciting game with the final score finishing at 4 – 4. Scoring the goals for the Orient were new signing Shiloh Wallace 2, then came singles from Oscar Hughes and Owen Ladbrook. Another new signing Alfie Folan was named man of the match.
Playing at home to London Brady Maccabi were the Under 18 Warriors and this game also had eight goals but it was the Warriors who sneaked it by winning 5 – 3. Scoring the goals were Stuart Peet with a hat trick, then came singles from Will Spencer and Lewis Glasscoe.
After a very close game at home to Southgate Park Rangers the Under 17 West came out on top with a 3 – 2 score line. Hitting the back of the net for the Saints were Harry Hawkes, Oscar Finnie and Billy Lawrence.
A goal from man of the match Omar Bounyafe made sure the Under 16 South picked up a point with a 1 – 1 draw against Everett Rovers.
In the first round of the Watford Friendly League ‘League Cup’ the Under 16 East took on Harvesters South and by the final whistle the East had runout winners by seven goals to nil. Scoring the goals for the East were Tom Levy 2, Luke Gibbins 2, Ollie Pawlaczek 2 and the final goal was scored by Aaron Tilney. Alex Stevens was named man of the match.
Also in the first round of the League Cup were the Under 16 North, but after a very tight match the North went down 3 – 2 to London Maccabi Lions White. Both of the Saints goals were scored by Alfie Booth. Will Sharpe was named man of the match.
Playing away to Sun Postal the Under 16 Orient won the game 3 – 1 with two goals from Adam Purkiss and Ashley Price scored the third. The man of the match went to Sam Healey.
In an inter club match between the Under 15 East and the Under 15 North it was the East who came out on top with a 6 – 1 score line. Stephano Finco was in fine scoring form with four goals for the East, the other Easts goals were scored by man of the match Kai Quait and Elliott Osborn. The Norths goal were scored by Dominic Dee and the Norths man of the match was Rob McKnee.
The Under 15 South lost 3 – 1 to A.E.K. in a Red Division fixture. Harry Smith scored the Souths goal and Ernesto Rodriguez was named man of the match.
Playing away to Watford Town Youth in the County Cup were the Under 14 North and they progressed to the next round after a 6 – 2 win. Leading the scorers for the Saints was Dan Banerjee 3, then came Billy Owen, Sam Mistry and Thomas Geller.
Playing at home to last season’s Division One champions Baldock in a County Cup match were the Under 14 West, at half time they had kept the score line down to 2 – 0, however by the full time whistle the score was 9 – 2 to Baldock. The Wests goals were scored by Stefan Martin and Will Shepherd.
Also in the County Cup were the Under 14 East who had a 1 – 0 lead at half time against Barmond United from Stevenage with a goal from Harry Peter. In the second half the East stepped up a gear and scored ten more goals with Harry Peter scoring another three goals to take his tally for the game to four. Not to be outdone Aaron Peter hit a hat trick and the other goals came from Ben Adshead 2, Fazan Uddin and Bradley Osborn.
Despite taking a 1 – 0 lead thanks to a goal from Connor Blight the Under 14 Orient lost 3 – 1 at home to Harpenden Colts Whites in the Challenge Cup.
The Under 13 Central played at home to Stevenage in the County Cup and with the score at 3 – 3 the game went to extra time thanks to some great saves from keeper Joe Moss. In extra time the visitors scored two lucky goals to take the game 5 – 3. Scoring the goals for the Saints were Daniel Williams with two plus one from Matt Roome.
The Under 12 West played away to London Maccabi Lions and despite scoring two goals, one from man of the match Elliot Pate and one from Thomas Robertson the home team scored a late winner to take the game 3 – 2.
Another team that was pipped bay a late goal and the same score line was the Under 12 North against Bovingdon. Scoring the goals for the North were man of the match Josh Doyle and Daniel Curran.
Man of the match Finlay Rees struck four goals with some superb finishing for the Under 11 West as they played Codicote Youth Reds. Shay Murphy also scored.
William Houghton scored a thunderbolt of a goal for the Under 10 South in their game with Potters Bar Black. The Saints turned in a fantastic performance with Charlie Easterby also scored. The man of the match went to Ben Huddlestone.
The Under 10 Victoria played away at Chorleywood Dragons Zak Davies scoring three goals (two were long range shots). The other two goals came from Oscar Bell.
There were league debuts for Isaac Templeton and Samuel Morris in the Under 10 Wests home game with St Margaretsbury Hawks. A goal from Samuel Morris opened the scoring for the West. As the half was drawing to a close Charlie Clark, held off two defenders, before hitting a cracking low shot through the legs of the keeper. This was a great team display and the man of the match went to Samuel Morris.
Angus Tidwell was named man of the match for the Under 10 Central after scoring a hat trick in their match with Welwyn Whirlwinds. There were also goals from Jack Bromwich and Matt Penfold.
In their first match at Under 9’s level the Under 9 North played Letchworth Garden City Eagles with goals from Sean Gallagher and Louis Daley.
Another team moving up a year were the Under 9 South and they played against Wodson United. Scoring for the Saints were Josh Smith 2, Freddie Yeo 2 (Man of the match), Steven Jacobs, George Robertson and Thomas Maher.
A Tom Jennings goal was the only effort for the Under 9 East to hit the back of the net in their match with Lemsford. George Metcalf was named man of the match.
The Under 9 Dragons played Bury Park Rangers. There were goals from Joshua Francois 2 and singles from Harry Barnes, Max Austin and man of the match Michael Napier.
The Under 9 Orient played a friendly against their fellow club mates the Under 9 West. Scoring for the Orient were Thomas Boca-Mapp 2, Dean Blandon 2, Josh Topp, Lucas Berry, Alex Hails and Dima Gusev. For the West Alfie Mare and Josh Ladyman. Natham Beetlestone was named man of the match.
Broxbourne played the Under 9 Arrows with their man of the match Callum Howells scoring a goal late on.
Playing Bury Rangers were the Under 9 Romans, Scoring the goals were Imad Syed, Jack Reeves, Arlo Webb and Max Winders.
Playing away to Broxbourne Youth saw the Under 9 Saxons play a good game. The scorers were Christian Harvey 2 and Thomas Robertson.
Now to the fun matches, the Under 8 North had a good game away to Harlow with Judd Austin being their star player. The Under 8 East played Welwyn Garden City and scoring the goals were Leon Rainey 3, Danny Quinn 2 and Samuel Philpot.
Under 15 & 16
The Under 16 Girls North, South and 15 Girls North and South all played each other in a round robin tournament, which saw goals for Niah Noel-Williams 4, Dani Tyler 2, Charlie Boyle, Emily Schofield for the Under 16’s. Other goals were scored by Alice Benson 2, Lauren Walker, Charlotte Banks, Claudia Smith, Maddie, Merritt plus one own goal.
The Under 11 Girls North played Hitching Girls in a friendly. Two goals from Tatyana Barton and singles from Katie Leigh, Keria Ward and a first goal for the club for Caitlin Wheeler.
