St Albans City Youth – Girls
Well done to the Under 16 Girls North Futsal team, who came third in the Under 16 Section of the HGFPL Futsal Tournament. Great effort from all of the players (including Shauna, who had to leave before the above picture was taken!) There were goals from Ellen, Mel, Dani (2) and Emily (4).
The Under 13 Girls Yellow played in the Under 13 Section of the HGFPL Futsal Tournament and gave a good account of themselves with wins against Harvesters, Garston and Welwyn. There only defeat was a 1 – 0 loss to Kinja. The goals were scored by Mia Pinkham 6 and one from Maz Horne-Badet.
The Under 13 Girls Blue also had a great day at the HGFPL Futsal Tournament with a 7 – 1 win against Harpenden Colts, 3 – 2 victory over Hatfield Town a 3 – 1 win over Harvesters followed by a 3 – 1 win over Bishops Stortford. The Blues won the final on Penalties 5 – 4. Scoring the goals during the tournament were Jess Simpson 9, Katie Holder 4 and Laura Gifford.
The Under 8 Girls had a great fun day at the HGFPL Futsal Tournament with matches against some top sides (Bedwell Rangers x 2, Garston Ladies x 2, Hitchin Belles and Evergreen Ladies). The goals for the Saints were scored by Laila Brown 5, Sophie Birkett 2, Maya Deans and Rebecca Smith.
The Under 18 West played fellow club mates the Under 18 Orient but it was the West who came out on top with a 4 – 3 victory. Scoring for the West were Twanda Manenji 2, Yaku Stapleton, Samuel Waters-Rathjen. For the Orient the goals were scored by Oscar Hughes 2 and Tom Nicolson. The man of the match went to Ellis Allan who was making his 200 Appearance for the club (Well done Ellis).
The Under 16 East WFL beat London Maccabi Whites 5 – 2 thanks to goals from Ned Robinson 2, Ewan Brand 2 (plus he was named man of the match) and Cain Joseph.
The Under 16 North went out of the County Cup at the Quarter Final stage with a 2 – 1 loss to Hoddesdon EJA. Will Sharp scored the Saints goal and the man of the match went to keeper Fergus Munn.
The Under 15 South lost 3 – 2 to Harvesters South. The Saints goals were scored by Ross Weaver 2. The man of the match went to Scott Gentle.
The Under 15 Orient lost 6 – 0 to Chorleywood Gunners. The man of the match went to Jake Devereux.
The Under 14 West went out of the Junior Cup following a 3 – 0 defeat to Aston Clinton.
The Under 14 East lost in this Senior Cup Quarter Final tie to Watford Youth 4 – 2 with the Saints goals being scored by Harry Peter 2 (one in each half). The man of the match went to Asher Stevens.
Although Peter Rock scored a hat trick his team (the Under 14 Orient) still lost 8 – 3 to Croxley Green White.
The Under 13 Central had a good 8 – 0 win over Chorleywood Common Vipers. The goals were scored by Daniel Williams 2, Josh Penning 2, Joe Cussans 2, Jonathan ‘Greavsie’ Hargreaves plus a stunning goal from outside of the box into the top corner by Matt Room. The man of the match went to midfielder Elliot Smith.
Playing away were the Under 13 Orient who had a 4 – 2 win over Ashton Clinton. Man of the match Samuel Beasley kept them in the game with a penalty followed by a hat trick from Ollie Gilmour.
The Under 13 North lost 1 – 7 to Harpenden Colts with Jack Geldard scoring the only goal for the Saints.
The Under 12 South lost 1 – 0 in the County Cup to Potters Bar Crusaders.
The Under 12 East Yellow WHYL had a good 6 – 0 win over Tring Tornadoes Tigers in the League Cup. The goals were scored by Brandon Trainis 2, Oscar Evans, Sujad Hussain, Thomas Every and William Miller.
The Under 11 South had a good match against Harlow Youth, there were goals from Matthew Martin 2 and Louis Warren. The man of the match went to Dylan Campos.
The Under 11 West played Clodan Youth Whites. Ben Collison was named man of the match and Finlay Rees scored.
The Under 10 East had a good match with Hertford Town in the League Cup in a game that ended 2 – 2. The goals were scored by Jensen Dean, who was also named man of the match along with Joe McLeod. The Saints lost on penalties 3 – 2.
Playing away in the League Cup were the Under 10 Boreal who won 4 – 3 against East Herts Youth Red with the goals coming from Charlie Gunthardt (also man of the match), Addison Doyle, Harry Muir and Carlos Johnson.
The Under 10 South played Potters Bar United Black. William Houghton scored two goals and the man of the match went to the whole team.
The Under 10 Victoria played away at Berkhamsted Raiders. The man of the match went to keeper Reece Diri who made some brilliant saves.
The Under 10 West played in a Cup match against Knebworth Leopards, after going 1 - 0 down they fought back to end the game all square at 1 - 1 thanks to a fine goal from Sam Mills. The match then went to extra time and then to penalties which the Saints won 3 - 1. The penalty scorers were Alex Duffy (man of the match), Sam Mills and Cody Smith.
The Under 10 Central played Harlow Town Harriers. Angus Twidell scored two goals and was also named man of the match. Also scoring was Matt Penfold.
The Under 9 North beat Cuffley Zeps 2 - 0 in the Divisional Cup thanks to two goals from Sean Gallagher.
The Under 9 East played Bury Rangers and won by three goals to nil in the Indigo Divisional Cup. Tom Jennings scored two goals and was also named man of the match. Joshua Kleiner-Mann also scored.
The Under 9 West played Bushey Herons. There were goals from Tommy Morgan, Alfie Mair and Josh Ladyman.
The Under 9 Orient played away at Berkhamsted Raiders Blues. There were goals from Dima Gusev and Lucas Berry. Harry Gaines pulled off some outstanding saves in goal.
The Under 9 Central also played a Berkhamsted team. There were goals from Ethan Siegar 3, George Parker, Josh White, Harry Pearce and Maxwell Hales. The man of the match went to Jack Creigh.
The Under 9 Dragons beat Harlow Youth 5 - 2 in the Divisional Cup Quarter Final. The goals were scored by Dylan Norman 2, Michael Napier, Max Austin and Josh Francois. The man of the match went to Ayaan Hussain.
The Under 9 Arrows lost 3 - 1 away to Wheathamstead Cougars in the Purple Division Cup. Callum Howells scored and Louis Godfrey was named man of the match.
The Under 9 Romans lost 2 -4 to Welwyn Garden City Tornados in the Divisional Cup. The Saints goals were scored by Imad Syed and Ryan Kennedy.
The Under 8 North played Wheathamstead Pumas. There were goals from Kaden Rajkumar 2, Jacob Standing 2, Christopher Datuda and Judd Austin.
The Under 8 South played Ware Youth. Harrison Smith scored and Theo Price was named man of the match.
