St Albans City Youth – Boys

 

Under 18

 

The Under 18 Orient played Hemel Town Red and won the game by three goals to two. Scoring for the Saints were Tom Nicolson (who was also named man of the match), Shaun Knighton and Jake Mlodecki.

 

The Under 18 West also played a Hemel Team (Hemel Town White) however they went down 4 – 0. The hard working Tawanda Manenji was named man of the match.

 

Under 16

 

Following a great team performance in this feisty league game the Under 16 East (WFL) beat Moor Park Tigers 4 – 1. Man of the match Joe Stockwell led the way with three goals whilst Ollie Pawlaczek netted the fourth goal.

 

Josh Ali, Adam Purkiss and Eric Kieffer were the scorers for the Under 16 Orient in their match against Kings Langley, however they still lost the game 5 – 3.

 

Another team to go down 5 – 3 after a closely fought match were the Under 16 Central in their game with Bushey and Oxhey. Stephen Gee scored two of the Saints goals and Jack Cummings netted the third. Left Back James Wood was named man of the match.

 

The Under 16 South WHYL beat Bushey and Oxhey Pumas 4 – 2 with man of the match Ben Gosling scoring two fine goals to set the South on their way to a fine win. The Souths other goals were scored by Jared Walsh and Omar Bounyafe.

 

The Under 16 East WHYL were at home to Bovingdon however they lost the game 5 – 1 with Luke O’Malley scoring their consolation goal. Joshua Drew was named man of the match.

 

Under 15

 

In a tense local derby game between the Under 15 South and Harvesters North it was the Young Saints who emerged victorious by three goals to two. Harry Smith, Joe Newton and Harrison Doyle scored the goals to give the South the win. The crisp tackling midfielder Adam Pringle was named man of the match.

 

The Under 15 North lost 3 – 0 to Hemel Aces Tigers and the forever battling Harry Watts was named man of the match.

 

Under 14

 

The Under 14 North moved into the fourth round of the County Cup after a 4 – 1 win over Codicote with two goals from James Lawrence plus singles from Daniel Banerjee and Joe Williams. The man of the match went to Sam Mistry after his excellent work in midfield.

 

Playing a team from the Division above in the Junior Cup were the Under 14 West and the Saints really turned it on as they beat Abbots Youth 4 – 0. Scoring the goals were Evander Port with two, then further goals from William Skinner and Stefan Martin. There were notable performances from keeper Sam Jackson-Hale, Centre back Adam Johnson, Midfielder William Shepherd and striker Evander Port.

 

The Under 14 East missed out in their County Cup game with Baldock Town Templars as they went down 3 – 2, they even missed a penalty in the last five minutes, which would have taken the game to extra time. Scoring for the East were Luke Smith and Ben Adshead.

 

Playing away to Everett Rovers Yellow in the League Cup were the Under 14 Orient, and the Saints made sure the yellows had the blues with the Orient storming to a 10 – 1 victory. Scoring the goals were Peter (Pocket Rocket) Rock with Six tremendous goals, which takes his tally for the season to 23. Also scoring were Dylan Hanscombe 3and Bly Wilding with a single. The man of the match went to keeper Emanuel Abu Sayf, who once again pulled of some excellent saves.

 

Under 13

 

The Under 13 North won 2 – 0 away to Hemel Blue with goals from Jack Geldard and Diego Pazaran-Butler. The man of the match went to the North’s Orson Campos who gave a brilliant performance in midfield.

 

Playing away to London Maccabi Lions the Under 13 South earned a point after a battling 1 – 1 draw with Louis Baker-Madec scoring the Saints equalising goal. The man of the match was given to keeper Charlie Craddock after making a string of fine saves.

 

Playing at home to the Chorleywood Common Vipers were the Under 13 Central. It was the Saints who took an early lead with a goal from Josh Penning but the visitors hit back with a sting in their tail to 2 – 1 up. The Saints fought back to go in at half time leading 3 – 2 with Daniel Williams scoring two fine goals. In the second half Williams struck again to complete his hat trick and make the scoreline 4 – 2. The Vipers hit back but the Saints managed to hang on and win the game 4 – 3. The man of the match went to Alex Sommerbauer.

 

Playing Olympiacos were the Under 13 East who earned a 2 – 2 draw thanks to goals from Jack Jennings and Nasir Zaman who was also named man of the match.

 

In the Challenge Cup the Under 13 Orient went down 6 – 3 to Park Street after they conceded two late goals on the break when they were pushing for an equaliser. Scoring for the Saints were Ollie Gilmour 2 and Daniel Breeze. Kieran Cooke was named man of the match.

 

Under 12

 

The Under 12 North played away in the Intermediate Cup to Croxley Green and came away with a 5 – 2 victory after an excellent team performance. Leading the scorers was Louis Sampson with a brilliant hat trick, then came Matthew Radelet and new signing Andrew Gentle with one each. The man of the match went to keeper Riley Chalfen.

 

The Under 12 West lost 1 – 0 in a very close league cup tie to Omonia Youth Gold.

 

The Under 12 South were pipped at the post by Chorleywood Hurricanes with a 5 – 4 score after a real end to end game. The Saints goals were scored by George Sippetts, Cian Cribbin, Callum Solly and Jack O’Rahilly. Keeper Alex Lakin was named man of the match.

 

In the second round of the Challenge Cup the Under 12 East WFL travelled to St Albans Rangers Red and came away with a 2 – 1 victory thanks to goals from Charlie Battle and Jack Jacobs. Midfielder Alessandro Di Trolio was outstanding during the game.

 

The Under 12 East Yellow were at home to Bedmond Youth in the League Cup and won the game 6 – 1. Oscar Evans led the way with a hat trick, this was followed by singles from Brandon Trainis, William Miller and Finlay Thomas.

Now we come to the non-competitive boy’s games.

 

Under 11

 

The Under 11 North played away to Hemel Athletic and Harrison Shaw scored in what has been described as a tough match.

 

The Under 11 East played St. Margaretsbury Eagles and there were goals from Harry Dawe 2 (his first brace of the season) and a single from Arjun Sansi which was his first of the season.

 

The Under 11 West played Hertford Heath, Jake Chaudhrey was named man of the match and there was a goal scored by Finlay Rees.

 

Under 10

 

The Under 10 South played Wormley Reds, there was a joint man of the match which was shared between Jed Ejjayha and Joe Varney.

 

The Under 10 East played away at Bury Rangers and there were goals from Jensen Dean 2 and a single from Liam Lavin.

 

The Under 10 Victoria played Abbots Youth, the goals in the match were scored by Zak Davies 5, Cameron Wilson 3, and man of the match Archie Hobbs 4 who also helped to set up a few of the goals.

 

The Under 10 West played Potters Bar Untied Black, the man of the match went to Alexei Rojas and the Samuel Morris scored after being setup by Charlie Clark.

 

The Under 10 Central played Panshanger Eagles with Oliver Taylor scoring two goals, also scoring were Barnaby Choudhry and man of the match Ralf Dunning.

 

The Under 10 Orient played Hoddesdon Red. There were goals from Antonio Penetra, Jack McDonald and George Ilari. The man of the match went to Harley Jack.

 

Under 9

 

The Under 9 North played East Herts in a great game and there were goals from Noah Butler, Antonio Desiderio and Finn Scully.

 

The Under 9 East played St. Margaretsbury Hawks, Sam Corrigan was named man of the match and Tom Flower scored.

 

The Under 9 West played away to Herons Red in what was a good team performance by both teams. There were goals from Jacob Nyamupingidza 2, Ben Hodges, Billy Dunn and one from man of the match Alfie Mair.

 

The Under 9 Orient played Harpenden Colts and there were goals from Bertie Postema 2 and the man of the match went to Adam Haj-Osman who was outstanding at full back.

 

The Under 9 Central played Everett Rovers. The man of the match went to George Parker who had a good match at centre back. There were goals from Ethan Sieger 2, Tyler Hall and Maxwell Hales.

 

The Under 9 Dragons played Welwyn Pegasus with Josh Francois scoring and the man of the match going to Harry Barnes.

 

The Under 9 Arrows played Hoddesdon Town White in an excellent match. There were goals from the man of the match Owen Weaver with a hat trick and Arthur McLaughlin with two goals.

 

The Under 9 Romans had a match with Bengeo Tigers Sabres and there were goals from Ryan Kennedy 2, Jack Reeves 2, Imad Sued 2 and Sonny Phillips also with 2 goals. During the game there were some fine saves from keeper Arlo Webb.

 

Under 8

 

The Under 8 North had a fine match with Hoddesdon which highlighted some great skills from both sides. There were goals from man of the match Charlie Yeo 2, Jacob Standing 2 and Kaden Rajkumar also with two goals.

 

The Under 8 South played Wheathamstead and there were goals from Theo Price with two and one from man of the match Jo Raeyen.

 

The Under 8 West played Frontiers Youth West. There were goals from Toby Short 3, Alex Evershed 2, Daniel Day 2, Daniel Berman, Romeo Rojas, Freddie Stewart and man of the match Daniel Day with two goals who also made a great save to his left whilst having a spell in goal.

 

St Albans City Youth – Girls

 

Under 16

 

For 50 minutes the Under 16 Girls South were the better team in their match with Bedwell Rangers with the scored stuck at 1 – 1. However, with fifteen minutes to go there was a spell of madness which saw the Saints go and lose the game 4 – 1. Scoring the Souths goal was player of the game Elysia Ramsdale.

 

The Under 16 Girls North were away to Watford Wasps and went down 7 – 2 after only being able to field 10 players due to injuries. The goalscorers for the Saints were Nicola Gosling with a penalty and Shauna Smith. The player of the match went to Melissa Godino.

 

Under 15

 

The Under 15 Girls North drew 2 – 2 with Bengeo (who snatched a point with a penalty in the last five minutes to deny the Saints all three points). Jessica Leigh scored both of the goals for the Saints and there was a joint player of the match which went to Maddie Merritt and Eleanor Keating.

 

The Under 15 Girls South played some great football at home to Hitchin Belles and went on to win the game 2 – 0. Alice Benson, with a great solo run scored with a fine low shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1 – 0 at half time. Benson also scored in the second half with another great strike. The player of the match went to Ellie Holder.

 

Under 14

 

Playing at home to Bedwell Rangers saw the Under 14 Girls put in a good team performance to earn a 1 – 1 draw with Bo Westcombe-Evans scoring their goal. There was a joint player of the match which went to Katie Riches and Hannah McCorkindale.

 

Under 13

 

As usual it was Mia Pinkham who scored the two goals for the Under 13 Girls but it proved not to be enough as they lost 3 – 2 away to Garston after a very close match. The player of the match went to Sophie Veal.

 

Under 12

 

Playing at home to Bishops Stortford were the Under 12 Girls South and despite a fine goal from Zoe Cowan the South gradually went down 3 – 1 with the player of the match going to Katie Hamm.

Now we come to the non-competitive girl’s games.

 

Under 11

 

The Under 11 Girls South played at home to Hitchin Belles and there was a goal from Shona Kellett.

 

The Under 11 Girls North were away at Borehamwood and there were goals from Katie Leigh 4 goals plus she was named player of the match, Keira Ward 4 and Tatyana Barton 3, Edie Shakespeare.

 

Under 10

 

The Under 10 Girls South played away to Ware Flamencoes. There were goals from Masie Humphreys 6, Ellie Langton, Jem Avery and Grace McMurray. The player of the match was Esme Bush.

 

Under 9

 

The Under 9 Girls North played at home to Watford Ladies. There were goals from Amy Reeves 3, Ruby Littlechild 3, Cora Bayliss 2, Ebba Taylor-Pugh 2 and two goals from player of the match Marina McCullen.

 

The Under 9 Girls South played Hitchin Belles with the player of the match going to Erin Mill and scoring a goal was Stella Ekbald.

 

Under 8

 

The Under 8 Girls played Garston Tigers in a fantastic game. There were goals from Laila Brown 8, Grace Gauthier 4, Maya Deans 2, Rebecca Smith 2, Sophie Birkett and one from player of the match Bailey Killner.
