On Sunday 26th April 2015 over 60 people with a range of physical and learning disabilities took part in a St Albans City Youth football and multisports festival at Nicholas Breakspear School.
The event was set up in partnership with Special Olympics and St Albans City Youth Deaf FC.
On the All Weather Pitch the City Youth Deaf team took on the highly rated Charlton Athletic Deaf team.
On the grass, courts and gym other athletes took part in a range of different fun sports.
Salpi Gulbekian from Passport to Leisure said " What really impressed me yesterday was the participation of some of the group who never take part
in sports yet they came along and enjoyed the event."
A parent said ""My son tried sports that he has never tried before. That was a big step forward for him"
The event from part of St Albans City Youth working in the Community encouraging more people with disabilities to take part in sport.
Thanks also go to the Premier League and PFA for providing funding for the coach education that lead these events through the Conference League Trust.
