Herts Youth Inclusive Football goes from Strength to Strength

Inclusive teams from across Hertfordshire enjoy fantastic Match Day Tournament

The last Match Day Tournament of the season for Herts Youth Inclusive Football took place on Saturday 24th June hosted by St Albans City Youth Inclusive.

Kindly supported by WatfordFC Community Trust, inclusive teams from St Albans City Youth, Everett Rovers, Bedwell Rangers, Harpenden Colts and Berko Raiders took part in the Match Day.

The tournament was a great success with 70 players of all abilities playing matches and enjoying football.  All played really well and the standard of football was high. The home team St Albans City Youth won both the U13’s and U16’s trophies.

Herts Youth Inclusive Football is a committee run by representatives from football clubs across Hertfordshire.  It was formed in 2016 after Herts FA took the decision to reduce the amount of support for disability football across Hertfordshire.

Herts Youth Inclusive Football aims to create opportunities for players of all abilities and inclusive teams to get involved in football and play matches. It helps clubs to develop their inclusive teams and also aims to create a clearer development pathway for players to progress in their football. It also provides a great social platform for children and young adults to enjoy sport and meet up with friends.

Herts Youth Inclusive Football runs regular Match Day Tournaments and quarterly football festivals to encourage more players to join local inclusive teams in Herts.

Through the partnership with WatfordFC Community Trust there are opportunities to play matches for Watford FC Inclusive against other premiership teams and get involved in many other sport and social activities.

The committee is currently supported by Kids In Sport and WatfordFC Community Trust and recently, Leverstock Green FC, a club who get little financial support, also donated to the committee.

Herts Youth Inclusive Football is going from strength to strength and is continuing to look for sponsorship and other opportunities that would benefit the players.
