City Youth Saturday Morning Training is moving

The clubs Saturday Morning Training sessions for the younger players is moving from the ‘Home of St Albans City Youth FC – Highfield Park’ to the clubs 3G Training facility at Nicholas Breakspear School starting on 7th September 2019 (10am-11am).

Saturday Morning training will be overseen by the clubs new Football Development Manager ‘UEFA B’ Coach Charlie Boswell, Charlie, who was one of the club’s early apprentices said “My role at St Albans City Youth FC is to develop players and coaches within the club”.

It was a tough decision to make when deciding to move our Saturday Morning Training, but over the past few years we have lost several Saturday sessions due to poor weather, hence the move to the 3G Astro. In addition, this the move will enable the club to schedule more matches at Highfield Park.

Saturday Morning Training can be booked in 4 x 12 week blocks, you can book at www.cityyouthfc.co.uk/book . This change will enable us to continue to provide some of the finest football and training facilities in the county as well as having the best training equipment. In the longer term this will flow through into better results for both player and coach development.

The move to the Nicholas Breakspear 3G Astro will also enable us to manage Saturday Mornings more effectively, thus continuing to provide a professional environment with the added benefits:

  • All sessions to take place regardless of the weather (All weather pitch) (apart from Snow!)
  • Ensuring the safety of all the young people attending (due to confined facility we can manage numbers, drop off/pickups)

The aim as always will be to create a professional environment plus providing coaches with a weekly syllabus to ensure that the players have been coached across all aspects of the game. The clubs Young Coaches from its award-winning young coaches programme will receive mentoring from senior UEFA B licence coaches which will help improve quality of their coaching.
