An FA initiative, Wildcats sessions aim to provide girls only training in a fun and friendly environment. These will take place on Saturday mornings throughout the Autumn term from 10-11am at Nicholas Breakspear School, AL4 0TT, and are open to girls of all abilities in Years 1 – 6. Sessions will take place on the 3G AstroTurf pitch, but indoor space is also available to allow training to go ahead in bad weather. At the end of the term (December) we will assess whether girls are ready to join an existing squad or, if numbers allow, we will create a brand new squad at this age group to join the league in January, playing matches on a Saturday morning. It would be great to have your daughter there! Breaking News - £20,000 Grant - City Youth and St Albans City in Partnership

Excellent news for the District, The Football Conference Trust will be providing a £20,000 Grant to help us to deliver a £32,000 Community Project in the St Albans District.

The Project will make sure that more young people take part in sport (not just football) and join local youth groups. The School's programme will see St Albans City FC and St Albans City Youth Community Football Club working together to promote healthy lifestyles. Finally the project will educate young people from the age of 14 to 16 to act as role models on the programme, to provide them with a Sports Leaders qualification and make it sustainable.

Whilst delivering these activities in local Schools and Clubs we will be looking to make more people aware of the social and educational opportunities St Albans City FC and St Albans City Youth FC can offer to the wider Community.

The Football Conference Trust is a partnership between the Football Conference, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers' Association. The Premier League and the PFA have committed to contribute £400,000 each to the fund a year for three years. This fund of £2.4M is to support all Football Conference member clubs to help support and develop their community activities.

St Albans City Football Club and St Albans City Youth Community Football Club would together like to extend our very grateful thanks to the Premier League and Professional Footballers’ Association who have enabled the Grant.
