City Youth Day at Clarence Park - 24th March The St Albans City FC v Poole match at Clarence Park on Saturday 24th March 3:00pm kick off will be City Youth Day, we can confirm that players who turn up wearing their City Youth tops will have free admission. Two City Youth teams will be forming the guard of honour as the players come onto the pitch, plus they will take part in a penalty competition, there will also be the final of the Schools penalty shootout competition. Coerver Pro Tour Trip to Madrid 2018

City Youth Manager Jon Cassidy and his son took advantage of the clubs Partner link with Coerver Coaching and made the trip over to Spain as part of the recent Coerver Coaching Pro-Tour trip to Madrid. You can see from the selection of pictures they had a fantastic time in Madrid, visiting the Spanish Football Federation Training Session training centre, the Spanish National Team Museum, plus watching the Real Madrid v Real Sociedad match at the Bernabeu, and that was just on the Saturday. During the weekend they also had a guided tour of the city plus a training session at Real Madrid’s Training Centre before flying back to the UK. February Coaching Camp - What a Week

This year our February Half term Coaching Camp was, once again, a great success. Held at Nicholas Breakspear on the 3G Astro, the coaches (all are the product of the City Youth Young Coaches programme) supervised all those attending over the five days of the camp. Numbers for the February Camp continue to grow with over 200 attending over the week. Our next camp will be over the Easter Holidays, dates to be confirmed shortly. A big thank you to all the parents for continuing to support our camps plus well done to the coaches for making it all possible. This camp was held as part of the Herts Sports Partnerships Coach Education Week 18 and the Hertfordshire Year of Physical Activity. The programme which, since its inception, has delivered education and training opportunities for over 8,000 sports coaches from Hertfordshire and further afield is organised by the Herts Sports Partnership (HSP), based at the University of Hertfordshire. Sports coaches play a huge role in introducing people into sport and helping them develop their skills and abilities. Player Development Centers (PDC) for Boys are part of the City Youth Player Pathway which was introduced by St Albans City Youth to help the development of players individual skills aged 5 years and older Our Player Development Centers (PDCs) for Boys and Girls are part of the City Youth Player Pathway. This was introduced by St Albans City Community Youth FC to aid the individual development of players aged five years and older. Our PDCs allow the players to improve their individual skills by focusing the coaching on the technical aspects of their play. Sam Merson and Sammy the Saint visit Colney Heath School

As part of the ongoing work to promote healthy and active lifestyles in the district, St Albans City co-owner, Lawrence Levy, first-team player Sam Merson and Club mascot Sammy the Saint went to Colney Heath Junior Mixed Infant school on Monday to deliver an assembly to encourage local children to eat healthily, be more active and work together. This is one part of St Albans City and its partner, City Youth’s continuing programme to support the local community and as part of this is currently delivering multi-sports coaching to 20 schools in the district. Player Movement between City Youth Teams

PLAYER MOVEMENT It is inevitable with many sides at each age group there will be some movement of players between teams. This is particularly the case when players move from primary to secondary education and make new friends. However it is important that any such movements are done with the least amount of inter team conflict. Please be aware that the club does not have a policy of streaming players. In the past age groups have considered in this in detail but rejected it. There should therefore be no question of managers approaching players with another side. (any approach to another club’s players would be considered an illegal approach by the FA). FA Online Safeguarding Renewal

FA Online Safeguarding Renewal If you need to renew your Safeguarding Certification then follow these instructions. The safeguarding workshop can be renewed online as many times as you want providing your original workshop was the 3-hour face to face workshop. Renewal is free and can be accessed using the guidance notes available from the download link below. If you are unable to access the online system, the individual will need to call FA Education on 0800 085 2012, as they will have to manually add them to the LMS system. All Team Managers to note PLAYER MISCONDUCT ADMINISTRATION Red Cards If a player is shown a red card by the referee and sent off, the club secretary must be told that day. The player in question will be suspended with effect from 7 days after the offence for a number of games depending on the reason for the dismissal. Correspondence is sent from the County to the club and passed on for completion to the player. The player will also be fined, plus there is a County administration fee. The paperwork has to be completed by the player and returned within 7 days and the fine and administration fee paid (by the player through the club) within ten days. This will include team and club sponsorship plus any other commercial opportunities that will provide the club with a benefit.
