St Albans City Youth - Boys

Under 18

In a WHYL league match saw the 18 East WHYL go down 9-1 against Evergreen with Zac Quinn scoring the East's consolation goal. The man of the match went to defender Callum Furness.

The 18 East WFL won 2-0 away to AEK Gold in the Challenge Cup with goals from Gio Basile and man of the match Ollie Hann which was enough to put the East through in a dominant display from the easy boys.

Under 16

In the Challenge Cup saw the 16 West keep a clean sheet as they won 3-0 against Berkhamsted Raiders Green with James Knapp, Aaron Peter and William Shepherd scoring the goals.

A very frustrated manager for the 16 Orient saw his team go down 7-0 in the Challenge Cup against Oxhey Jets.

Away to Wormley Rovers Youth Black were the Central and in there match saw the Central score goals through Josh Gibson, Hayden Mistry and Dan Oldfield.

The 16 East beat Omonia White 2-1 in the WFL League Cup after they came back from being a goal down at half time. Harry Peter opened the scoring for the East with a equaliser. With about 15 minutes to Hayden Tominey -Smith sneaked in to score the winning goal to make the final score 2-1 to the East.  The man of the match was given to the hard working Harry Peter.

The 16 EJA team were at home to Cheshunt  and won 2-1 with the visitors scoring a very late consolation goal in the 90th minute. Goalscorers for the young Saints were Max HODGSON and Brad SIMM with assists from Jamie Armstrong and Brad Simm who of course assisted in setting up Hodgson's goal.The 16's EJA also hit the woodwork 3 times with Daniel Banerjee hitting the crossbar with a header and then came Ryan Orde with a 25 free kick which also struck the crossbar. Next up up for hitting the woodwork was Max Hodgson who low drive struck the foot of the post.

Under 15

Away to 15 East in the 1st round of the County Cup saw the 15 Central win 7-0 after a goalless first half. A strong midfield performance in the first half from the trio of Ben Sommerbauer, Daniel Onochie-Williams and Ollie Gilmour helped Central get control of the game. The defence also worked hard in cutting out key opposing players. Two outstanding volleys from Angelo Calatrava contributed to his hat-trick and then an amazing 25 yard free kick into the top corner gave Daniel Onochie Williams his second goal of the match. A cool finish on the back post resulted in a goal for Calum Cornish and then came a late goal from Ben Sommerbauer to wrap up the scoring. The man of the match for Central went to Angelo Calatrava whilst the man of the match for the East went to Anton Nicolas Sahota.

Goals from man of the match Callum Cosgrove, Harvey O'Toole. George Monery and Adam Robinson saw the 15 South beat Alexandra Park North 4-0

In a inter club match saw the 15 West play the 15 Orient and it was the latter that went on to win 3-1 this local derby match. A fine team performance from the Orient was capped with two goals from Samuel Beasley whilst the other came from Tom Cox. The man of the match for the Orient was goalkeeper Daniel Breeze with an assured keeper's performance including a penalty save. For the West their goal was scored by Kai Hobbs whilst picking up there player of the match was Alex Veizi.

Away to Hertford Town which was played at Sun Sports FC were the 15 EJA and they had a comfortable 5-0 win with all the the goals coming in the first half.

Jack McSHANE with a simple tap from close range after Jack Kelly had squared the ball across to him from the left hand side of the box. 

Goal number two was a cheeky backheel from Josh FORSTER after the ball was bouncing around the box and just waiting for someone to get that vital touch.

The third goal was scored by Jack McSHANE who buried the ball into the bottom right hand corner with a great low strike with the chance coming about after a poor clearance saw the ball being squared right across the penalty area. It was going all the Saints way and Josh FORSTER rose up to head home goal number four following a well flighted free kick from Kyle Rahoo.

Goal number five arrived when a long kick from keeper Billy Johnson found Benny STACEY who from just inside the box buried the into the bottom corner to make the scoreline 5-0. Jack McShane was in good form and he was very unlucky to not to add to the scoreline with two well placed headers which both came back off the crossbar with the Hertford keeper well beaten both times.

In the second half Hertford pressed hard to pull a goal back and they found the Saints custodian Billy Johnson in fine form as he pulled off three great saves to keep the home team out. There was a joint man of the match and went to Alex Sommerbauer and Jack McShane.

Under 14

At home to Harpenden Colts Hawks saw 14 Boreal draw 2-2 with a goal from Jack O'Rahilly plus one from man of the match Ben Wick.

The manager of the 14 North team said "ouch" after they lost 12-2 to Belstone Red in the Challenge Cup with man of the match for the North Daniel Curran scoring there first goal whilst new signing Tyler Cadiou-McCarthy netted the second.

Hadley Wood & Wingate Foxes were to wiry for the 14 East Blue as they gradually lost 2-0 after a very close game.

After an even first half in a Division 2 league fixture between the 14 South and Kings Langley saw the South totally dominate the second half to win by five goals to two. The Kings Langley defence had no answer to the power and pace of man of the match Tyler Channer who scored all five goals.

Under 13

The 13 South tore in to Harpenden Colts Tornadoes and finally beat them 6-2 with Louis Warren hitting a superb hat-trick. The other goals were scored by Alfie Parkins, Oliver Wynne and Tio Jayasinghe whilst Joseph McLeod was named man of the match.

A Challenge Cup match between the 13 East and the Norseman saw the Norseman just edge it by three goals to two. Scoring for the East was Joe Poulton with a fantastic long range shot with his weaker foot plus one own goal. The man of the match was Wes Mudziviri who had an outstanding match in the back line.

A goal from Elliott Johnson plus one own goal was enough to give the 13 North all three points with a 2-1 win over Colney Heath Harriers.

Under 12

Away to Harpenden Colts Hornets saw the 12 West lose 5-1 in the Challenge Cup with mon of the match Cody Smith scoring there consolation goal.

In a cup match were the 12 Central and they beat Chipperfield Corinthians 5-0 with two goals from Matthew Penfold and two goals from Charl Mason plus one from man of the match Akere Ngu.

The 12 Victoria continue there good start to the season with their third win in a row against Chorleywood Dragons but they had to come back from going behind after some very sloppy defending in the first half. In the second period the Vics game continued to get better and goals were coming as Kayan Joseph hit a cracking equaliser.The man of the match went to Oscar Bell who was a constant threat against the Dragons and so it proved as he bagged the winner with only a minute to go for Victoria to win 2-1.

In the 1st round of the Challenge Cup saw the 12 Boreal defeat Watford Youth Reds away 4-1 and it was a brilliant performance for Boreal just a week after being defeated by the same team at home. Two quick goals put the young Saints 2-0 up and although the home side pulled one back just before half time that is how the score remained at the break. The second half was a defensive and counterattack fight where eventually the Saints scored another two more goals to win the match. The man of the match went to Carlos Johnson whose superb hat-trick defined the result whilst Freddy Penford scored the fourth goal.

Under 11

At home to Chorleywood Common were the 11 Central and in their match there were goals from Jack Creigh and Tyler Gullin whilst Frankie Fitzgerald was named man of the match.

In a match between the 11 Spartans and Stevenage Borough Juniors Whitecaps there were plenty of goals from both sides and scoring for the Spartans were Dewayne Mitchell 3, Zevik Cowell, Dominik Cofone and Max Attewell.

The 11 Dragons played Broxbourne Borough Blue and after excellent all round performance saw the Dragons breathe fire into there opponents and score goals with Michael Napier keeping up his goal a game. There were other goals from Joshua Francios and Dylan Norman with Ayaan Hussain being named as man of the match for a compose and disciplined display in defence.

There were goals from Will Antcliffe, Ryan Kennedy, Asa Stewart-Harris and Sam McGorrian for the 11 East in their match with King George Vipers and the man of the match went to the East's captain Tom Flower.

The 11 Arrows played Potters Bar Raiders and scoring a goal for the young Saints was Luke Collins.

There were plenty of goals for both sides in the match between 11 Orient and Harpenden Colts Pumas with the whole of the Orient squad giving an excellent performance. Scoring for the Orient were Antonio Desiderio 4, Ollie Jay 3, Bertie Postema 2 and Dean Bladon. For his outstanding finishing saw Antonio Desiderio named man of the match but he only just pipped Lucas Berry who also had a great match.

In another high scoring match between the 11 South and Watford Youth saw man of the match Sam Estell score three goals as did Owen Weaver whilst Max Butterworth got 2 with Ben Browning, Daniele Di Stadio, James Beasley, Josh Smith and Louis Godfrey all score one apiece.

Under 10

Playing Clodan Gold were the 10 South and scoring their goal was man of the match Raf Fortuna.

The 10 West playing Wormley had a good match against them with Toby Short scoring a fine hat-trick and then Daniel Day popped up with a brace whilst Freddie Stewart and Max Tunnicliffe scored one apiece.

At home were the 10 Orient and they were playing Chesham Youth Amber and scoring two great goals were Alfie Long and Otto Meechi.

There was outstanding team display with particular praise to Zach Thomlinson and Jayden Nevers-Wright for the 10 Central in their game with Potters Bar. Seth Connolly scored two goals with Benny Jeffery netted one.

Under 9

Away to Parsloe Athletic Clarets saw an excellent performance from Leo Hooper-Walter for the 9 East who also went on to score two goals as well. The East played well in both half's with the star player going to Will John who had a brilliant game alongside Nikhill Jagota who also played well.

Oliver Ajaegbu scored the only goal for the 9 North who were away to Risden Wood Rangers and the North could only field 8 players.

The 9 West played a good game at home to Cuffley Youth Stars and scoring goals for the young Saints were Jack Burke with a hat-trick plus singles from Ben Burt and Will Stone.

Under 8

In a thrilling friendly match between the 8 North and Ware Youth Blues saw Sam McCree score a hat-trick with Noah Fox netting one. The man of the match went to the 8 North's goalkeeper Leo Antcliffe who capped off a fine team display.

The 8 East played there 1st game for the City Youth away to Enfield Rangers and their were two goals from Bailey Fennel which got him the man of the match award from his parents.

St Albans City Youth - Girls

Under 18

The 18 Girls back to full strength saw them have a fantastic home win over Flitwick Eagles by beating them 10-0. Scoring the goals were Emily Schofield with five and then Danielle Tyler with a hat-trick whilst both Melissa Godino and Isabelle Poole got one apiece with the latter scoring her goal after a fine run out of defence. The player of the match went to Abby Durrant for a dominating midfield performance.

Under 16

At home to Kings Langley were the 16 Girls but after three minutes they found themselves a goal down but they quickly got their game together and Melissa Trulock raced down the right wing and drove the ball pass the Langley keeper to make the score 1-1. Ten minutes later Claudia Scrimgeour took her chance well to make it 2-1 following a lovely passing move whilst just before the break Charlie Webb made it 3-1 after a driving run through the middle to place the ball into the bottom corner. The second half was end to end and soon City were 4-1 up with sensational shot by Emily Sibley looping over the keeper from distance. Kings Langley hit back to make it 4-2 and then nearing the end of the match Charlie Webb got her second of the match for City to run out 5-2 winners. The player of the match went to Emily Sibley.

Under 15

Meanwhile the 15 Girls did not have much luck as well as they went down 4-1 at home to Hendon Youth with Lauren Gifford scoring the 15 Girls goal whilst Abbie Scanion was named player of the match.

Under 14

The 14 Girls lost at home 2-0 to Stevenage Borough Junior Stars.

Under 13

The 13 Girls North had a tough match against a strong Tottenham Hotspur Ladies side and they eventually went down 6-0 with Grace Langham being named player of the match.

Also having a good win were the 13 Girls South as they defeated Hitchin Belles Whites 4-2 with player of the match Natasha Soll scoring two goals whilst Rosie Littlechild also hit a brace as well.

Under 12

The 12 Girls South fought out a 0-0 draw with Hoddesdon Owls Eagles with the player of the match going to goalkeeper Jess Blackman who even saved a penalty to make sure the match ended goalless.
