St Albans City are pleased to announce that following the Midweek Youth's flying start to the season six players have been selected to represent the AFA (Amateur Football Alliance) U18s. Congratulations go to Laurence Wroe, Joe Zazzera, Matt Taylor, James Shaw, Tremayne Charles and Elliot Bailey on making the squad. This is a fine achievement, especially since five of the players are still only 16!

The AFA is a County Football Association, affiliated to the Football Association. Whilst the majority of their clubs are in London and the Home Counties, they have member clubs throughout England. The AFA is unusual among County FAs in not being based around a particular geographical area.

Fixtures start against Surrey FA on 25 September at Redhill followed by matches against Middlesex FA, Sussex FA, Royal Navy, Kent FA and Norfolk FA in the FA County Youth Cup.
