Under 11’s
This week for the Under 11's Girls North was the League Cup against Hampstead.
Once again an excellent team performance with much of the game in Hampstead’s half. The girls’ continuous running produced numerous attempts on goal that were unfortunately hampered by a strong ’keeper in the Hampstead goal; fortunately on the Hampstead breakaways we also had a strong keeper in Mollie Herrington who made a number of crucial saves.
The second half started well, producing, 9 minutes in, a much looked for goal from Melissa Trulock. The quality of play continued however a strong shot on goal from Hampstead, of which our ’keeper was totally unsighted, ended up in the back of the net. Further disappointment followed with a lucky deflection off the knee of a Hampstead player that also saw the back of North’s net. This left very little time for North to ‘come back’ although the remaining minutes continued to see a strong assault on Hampstead’s goal. The North were extremely unlucky in this match however they once again showed their commitment to working hard as a team. Report by Sue Chick

Under 9’s
Playing Lemsford Lions were the Under 9’s North and if it were not for MOTM, keeper Sam Pollard who pulled of some great saves the score line could have been more than a 2 – 0 defeat.
The Under 9's South played Lemsford Tigers at home and despite the game ending in a draw (it's always nice to win), both coaches felt that it was our best team performance to date. The team shape is starting to stay consistent even when substitutions are made with all the boys showing a real understanding of their positions. At training we are trying to work on pressuring the ball and pass and move into space when we have the ball. Today we saw same fantastic passing with Mark, Louis & Harvey involved in a move that was an absolute pleasure to watch. The boys also worked hard in pressuring the ball stopping Lemsford from playing football for large spells of the game and it is clear to see that they are getting much fitter. There was also same great wing work with Charlie making same great runs, producing great crosses at the end and we can't not mention Louis's (RyanGiggs) goal and Kit's (Gordon Banks) save!!!!!
Goals this week from Louis Baker-Madec, Mark Allan and a well deserved goal from Harvey Connor. Defensively we tightened up in the second half and we thought we were quite unlucky not to win it in the end. Report by Mark Varney and Kevin Bayham
The Under 9’s Central won 5 – 0 away to Ware Youth Reds with goals from Dan Bayliss 2, Joe Moss, James McVeigh and Luis Moreno. The MOTM went to Jack Kelly.
