Saints reach Semi-Finals of the Regional Cup

On Saturday St Albans City Youth Disability travelled to Sussex to take part in the South East Regional Disability Cup 11 A Side Quarter Finals. These were played on a group basis with the first game for the Saints being against Team Sussex. This match was a 1 – 0 win for the City Youth thanks to a goal from Ben Kelly. Next up were Folkestone and again the Saints came away with a victory, this time 2 – 0 with the goals being scored by Dennis Cranswick. Their final match was a 2 – 0 defeat at the hands of Reading but their two wins in the group was enough to book a place into the semi-finals. The team was coached by Jak Hamilton, Liam O’Dubhuir and Player Coach Ben Kelly, all organised by Steve Ward the Head of the Disability Section at City Youth.

 

St Albans City Youth FC - Boys

Under 18

The Under 18 Orient had a good 2 - 1 win over Hemel Town Red thanks to goals from Owen Ladbrook and Stephen Heather. The man of the match went to Harry Reeves.

The Under 18 Warriors defeated Harvesters East 7 - 0 in the Spring Shield thanks to goals from Lewis Glasscoe 2, Will Spencer 2, Nico De Oleria, Max Sharpe and Joe Weaver. The man of the match was Eddie Amato.

The Under 18 East lost 5 - 1 to Nascot Wood with man of the match Luke Winks scoring the Saints only goal.

Under 16

16 North Reach the Challenge Cup Final

In the semi final of the Challenge Cup it was the Under 16 North v Evergreen, it was a close match that was only decided when the game went into extra time. The Saints won 3 - 2 thanks to goals from Wil Sharp, Hugh Gaffney and Gianpaolo Manzi. The man of the match went to Cian Sweeney.

The Under 16 North alos played Belstone and drew 1 - 1 with Curtis Finch scoring and Youness Bakhti being named man of the match.

The Under 16 Central lost 4 - 1 to Bovingdon with Stephen Gee scoring.

The Under 16 South lost 6 - 0 to Chorleywood Lions. Jared Walsh was the man of the match.

The Under 16 Orient also played an Evergreen team and this time the match ended all square at 4 - 4. Scoring the goals were Eric Kieffer, Bill Llewyllen-Jones, Josh Ali and Nayeem Ahmed.

Under 15

The Under 15 Orient played away to AEK Eagles Black and the game ended all square at 5 - 5. Scoring the goals for the Orient were Ibrahim Rahman, Louis Howard, Finbar King 2 and Harry Easterby. The man of the match was Louis Howard.

The Under 15 East beat fellow club mates the Under 15 North 6 - 2 after the scoreline was 4 - 0 at half time. The goals for the East were scored by Stef Finco 2, Kai Quit, Harry Docherty, Demetruis Johnson and Daniel McGarry. For the North the scorers were Archie Hall and a penalty from George Healy. The man of the match was Cameron Clarke.

The Under 15 South had a very close defeat (2 - 3) against Finchley. Harry Smith and man of the match Ross Weaver scored.

Under 14

The Under 14 North played London Maccabi Lions in the Quarter Final of the WFL League Cup and progressed to the Semi Finals thanks to a 6 - 1 victory. The Saints goal scorers were Dan Banerjee 2, Billy Owen 2, Jarvis Wilkins and Joe Parrett who was also named man of the match following an excellent display on the wing and up front.

Under 13

The Under 13 Central drew 2 - 2 at home to Harpenden Colts thanks to goals from Louis Johnston and man of the match  Daniel Onochie-Williams.

The Under 13 North lost 2 - 1 to Watford Sports. Freddie Collins scored and Orson Campos was named man of the match.

The Under 13 South lost 2 - 1 to Maccabi Lions with Tom Dodd scoring the Saints only goal.

The Under 13 East lost by the odd goal in five (2 - 3) to Highgate & Muswell Hill. Emerson Smith and Louis Postema scored for the Saints.

Under 12

The Under 12 West played a double header against Edmonton Barsuola. The first game was a tight affair with a 2 - 2 scoreline, Lotenzon Johnson and Mark Lake scored the goals. The second match saw Edmonton  get off to a good start and they finished up 5 - 0 winners.

The Under 12 East Yellows had a good 9 - 0 win over Berkhamsted Raiders Purple. Scoring the goals were Brandon Trainis 4, Oscar Evans 4 and Henry Cox.

The Under 12 South played Sun Sports Yellow and won the game by three goals to one thanks to a hat trick from man of the match George Sippetts.

Playing away were the Under 12 North who had a 4 - 1 win against Abbots Youth. The goals were scored by Louis Sampson 2, Matthew Radelat and Andrew Gentle. The man of the match was Sam McKenna.

The Under 12 East Blue had a narrow 2 - 0 defeat against Brady Maccabi White.

Under 11

The Under 11 East played Welwyn Pegasus Skys. There was a goal from Arjun Sansi and Kiran Selvarajah was named man of the match.

Under 11 West played Harpenden Cyclones. Ben Collison scored and Caleb Ezequiel was named man of the match.

Under 10

The Under 10 Orient played Hoddesdon Reds Under 10s which saw a great team performance. There were goals from Callum Crowther and Jack MacDonald.

The City Youth Under 10 Boreal played Wheathamstead Wanderers Cougars. There were goals from Addison Newe-Doyle, Charlie Gunthardt, Samee Urrehman and four from man of the match Harry Muir.

The Under 10 South played Cuffley Youth Scorpions. Goals from Jed Ejjayha and Sam Ejjayha 2. The man of the match went to Joe Varney.

The Under 10 Central played Elite Feet Southgate Tigers. There were goals from Oliver Taylor 2 and Angus Twidell. The man of the match was Charlie Wren.

The Under 10 East played Hertford, there were goals from Joe McLeod 2 and Harry Stone.

The Under 10 Victoria played Comets. Oscar Bell scored. There was also some fine passing during the game between Benjy Stone and Freddie Roe.

The Under 10 West played away to Stevenage Borough Boca. There were goals from man of the match Isaac Templeton and Charlie Clark.

Under 9

The Under 9 Romans played East Herts Youth. Scorers were Evan Marr, Iman Syed and Sonny Playford.

Under 9 Dragons played Wheathamstead Wanderers. There were goals from Max Auston and Josh Francois. The man of the match was Dylan Norman.The Under 9 Saxons played Elite Feet Southgate Pumas, there were goals from Luca Callegari 3, Sam Estell 3 and Jasper Button.

The Under 9 East played Wormley Whites, there were goals from Liam Powell and 3 from Tom Flower, one was a bullet like header from a great corner by Tom Jennings.

The Under 9 North played Wormley. Sam Johnston was named man of the match.

The Under 9 South played Hatfield Comet. The man of the match was Thomas Maher who created some fine passing football.

The Under 9 West played Nascot Wood.

The Under 9 Arrows played Nazeing Youth. Oliver Jay scored and was also named man of the match.

The Under 9 Saxons played Southgate Pumas Elite Feet. There were goals from Luca Callegari 3, Sam Estell 3 and Jasper Button.

Under 8

The Under 8 West played at home to Ware Youth Blue. There were goals from Daniel Berman 2, Daniel Day, Romeo Rojas, Freddie Stewart and Nick Evershed. The man of the match went to Daniel Day.

The Under 8 East played Potters Bar Crusaders. There were goals from Arthur Rennie-Sivell 2, Leon Rainey and man of the match Danny Quinn.

The Under 8 North played Broxbourne and Jacob Standing scored two goals. The man of the match was Alfie Bedell.

The Under 8 South played Ware Youth, Harrison Quinn scored two goals and was also named man of the match.

The Under 8 Orient played St Margaretsbury Hawks.

Under 16

The Under 16 Girls North played away at Hitchin Belles. The player of the match was Emily Schofield.

Under 15

In a local derby and inter club match the Under 15 Girls South opened up the scoring against club mates the Under 15 Girls North with an excellent (pre) rehearsed set piece from a corner which resulted in Kira Close slotting the ball home into the corner of the net. Alice Benson then hit an amazing hat trick to give the South a 4 - 0 lead at half time. The second half proved to be a closer affair with the North battling for every ball but Emily Sibley shot at the near post to make it 5 and then Grainne Kellett made it 6 - 0 before the final whistle. The player of the match for the South was Jess Levy.

Under 13

The Under 13 Girls drew 3 - 3 with Garston Girls. Laura Gifford scored two goals and was also named player of the match, the final goal was sored by Mia Pinkham.

Under 12

The Under 12 Girls South played St Margaretsbury at home and drew the match 1 - 1 thanks to a goal scored by Zoe Cowan. The player of the match was Georgia Stone.

Under 11

The Under 11 Girls North played Harpenden Bobcats. There were goals scored by Tatyana Barton 3 and Caitlin Hugo. The player of the match went to Tatyana Barton.

The Under 11 Girls South played a friendly against Potters Bar, Jaimie Curtain scored.

Under 10

The City Youth Under 10 Girls South played Berkhamsted Raiders Blues. There were goals scored by Ellie Langton and one from player of the match Jemima Avery.

The Under 10 Girls North played Denham Ladies. There were goals from Abbie Louise Bierman and Amelia Thompson 2.

Under 8

The City Youth Under 8 Girls played Garston Tigers away. There were goals from Laila Brown 8, Maya Deans 3, Nora Doyle-Newe 3, Emma Bracey 3, Rebecca Smith 3, Olive Jones and Sophie Birkett. The player of the match went to Laila Brown.
