Feedback from City Youth Coach Anthony Gosling on his recent trip to St George's Park
I was luckily enough as a young coach to attend this years Football Futures camp held at the Home of English football St. George’s park. Over the first 2 days of the four I took part in different workshops which looked at 5 different key area’s of football. Informal football, disability football, Refereeing, football presented within the media and also coaching children between 5-11 years old. These different workshops really opened my eyes to a wide range of areas in football, giving me a better understanding of all 5 areas with the most interesting one being the workshop on disability football. The next two days were the specialist training days which I selected to do coaching. Roger Davies who is FA national coaching in education manger led the two key, inspiring days which everyone would agree with me to be full of new session plans and new ideas to bring to our own coaching.
In addition to this I was lucky enough to meet some famous people from the world of football. Which was great.
The whole experience for me will really influence my progress as a coach and making a lot of new good contacts will help me go far in the future. Thank you for those who put me forward for this experience, it is something I will never forget.
