BSL Sign Language Course
17 young coaches from the County took part in a BSL Sign Language Course to help them to become better Community Coaches. The course was run by Jay Thomas-Morton with his "signing" expert Ruth.
Jay was born deaf but was an inspiration to the group run the sessions and showed us how to use sign language and other coaching techniques to get our message understood.
Community Coach Graham Tuitt who regularly works in the Disability sector said " I enjoyed learning about different sign language. We were split into small teams so I had the chance to try out a few things as well as having two people in the room who were experts. This helped me to use it in conversations. It was a good experience for me. I cannot wait to use it in football, tennis and other sports."
The Course was made possible by St Albans City Youth in the Community Coaches thanks to funding by Pro-Action and Hertfordshire County Council
