A CLEAN SWEEP FOR LONDON COLNEY
St Albans City Youth teamed up the students at Oakland's College to refurbish the London Colney Football Ground.
This was a similar but smaller event than the one at Clarence Park to allow the Special Needs students from Oakland's College to have a leading role and to give them a better chance to express themselves.
The jobs included litter picking, sweeping, washing and cutting back the trees and hedges.
The Disability Coaches from STACY oversaw the entire operation giving occasional words of encouragement throughout the day.

Sam Crafts one of the Apprentice Coaches working for St Albans City Youth as part of their Community Programme highlighted "It was really good to give the Oakland's boys and girls some work experience as well as fun at the same time. I used to go to Oakland's myself so it has opened my eyes to the different courses and services they provide. It was good for me to work in partnership with the College"
The next Corporate Day sees STACY working with The Police, Special Olympics, YMCA and The Highfield Park Trust on 3rd December. If you would like to find our more about the Community Projects St Albans City Youth runs in the area please visit our website www.cityyouthfc.com
These projects are sponsored by the Hertfordshire County Council Aiming High training programme.
